を有し、留具１８はそのテーパ接合の強固な係合を保持
し、移植部材要素６を係合してそれらを一緒に引き寄せ
るもので、緩みが起こっても、留具と各要素間の圧着を
保持するように変形する弾性部分を有する留具。

【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【発明の属する技術分野】本発明は、モジュール式の整
形外科用移植部材の結合に関する。特に、本発明は、接
合が緩んでも雄／雌のテーパ接合に圧着性を保持する留
具を有する雄／雌のテーパ結合に関する。
【０００２】
【従来の技術】整形外科での多くの人工移植部材は、本
体とその本体に結合しうるステムを有する。本体とステ
ムとの結合は、一般に本体とステムとの係合テーパによ
ってなされる。例えば、米国特許第５，４０５，３９６
号明細書には、金属板及び金属板と結合しうるステムを
有する脛骨の人工移植部材が記載されている。金属板は
雌テーパを有し、ステムは、その雌テーパ内に密接に適
合するように、雄テーパを有する。もう１つの例とし
て、米国特許第３，０６７，７４０号（’７４０）明細
書には、ソケット部材、上部本体、及び爪、又はステム
部材を有する臀部の結合用人工移植部材が記載されてい
る。上部本体は雌テーパを有し、ステムは雌テーパ内に
密接に適合するように、雄テーパを有する。ステムの上
端は、上部本体とステムを圧着して堅固に係合するため
のキャップナットを受け入れるようネジ山がつけられて
いる。
【０００３】かかる先行技術のテーパは、締結スクリュ
ウあるいはキャップナットが自動締結機能を強化するた
めに用いられているような自動的に締まる種類のもので
あるか、又は締結スクリュウあるいはキャップナットが
締結を行うために必要であるような非自動締結のもので
ある。先行技術のテーパジョイントにおける問題点の一
つは、当初の据え付け後に、患者の動作により負荷が加
えられたような場合、テーパが緩むことである。締結ス
クリュウは、その時、ジョイントとの圧着性を失い、移
植部材からネジ締めが緩みはじめる。上記の特許’７４
０は、キャップナットのネジとステム間の摩擦による係
合を付与することによりナットが緩まないような弾性締
結プラグの使用を教示している。しかしこの装置は、設
置する間に生ずるであろうような圧着ロスのためには役
立たない。加えて、弾性材料の使用は、人工移植部材中
に望ましくない材料をもう一つ導入することになる。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】本発明は、モジュール
式の整形外科用移植部材を結合する留具を提供すること
を目的とし、特に、本発明は、接合が緩んでも雄／雌の
テーパ接合に圧着性を保持するような雄／雌のテーパ結
合を有する留具を提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】本発明者らは、上記の課
題を解決するために鋭意検討の結果、本発明をなすに至
った。即ち、本発明は、整形外科用のモジュール式の複
数の移植部材要素を一緒に引き寄せるための留具であっ
て、該留具は、第１の端部と、第２の端部と、第１の端
部と第２の端部間に伸びている長手軸線を持つ部材から
なり、スプリングタブが第１の端部と第２の端部の一つ
から伸びており、該スプリングタブが該長手軸線に沿っ
た方向に弾性的に変形可能であることを特徴とする留具
に関するものである。
【０００６】本発明は、移植部材の本体要素とステム要
素との間の結合ジョイントを提供するもので、当初から
強固に結合させ、さらにジョイントが負荷を受けても強
固な結合を保持するような結合ジョイントを提供するも
のである。本体とステムは、その一部に雄／雌テーパ結
合を有する。留具はテーパ結合を強固な係合で保持す
る。留具は移植部材要素を係合し、それらを一緒に引き
寄せる。留具は弾性部分を有しており、その弾性部分
は、負荷による緩みが起こっても該留具と該要素との間
の圧着接合を保持するように変形する。

【発明の実施の形態】以下、図を参照しつつ、本発明を
さらに詳述する。図１から図８は、雄／雌係合部分によ
り結合された２つの要素からなる典型的なモジュール式
の臀部の結合用人工器具を示す。移植部材本体２は前端
部分１及び末端部分３を有する。好ましくは、本体２
は、末端部分３の方に開いており前端部分１に向かって
狭まっているような雌テーパ４を有する。さらに本体２
は、前端部分の方に開いている凹部１０及び雌テーパ４
と凹部１０の間を連絡する貫通孔１２を有する。凹部１
０は貫通孔１２よりも広いので、肩部１４は雌テーパ４
の反対側で本体２に形成される。もう一つの態様（図示
されていない）においては、凹部１０は省略され、貫通
孔１２が雌テーパ４から前端部分１へ連絡しており、前
端部分１の表面が肩部を形成している。
【０００８】移植部材ステム６は前端部分５及び末端部
分７を有する。好ましくは、ステム６はその前端部分５
の近傍に雄テーパ８を有する。雄テーパ８は、雌テーパ
４と係合するために前端部分５に向かって狭まってい
る。好ましくは、よく知られているように雄テーパ８と
雌テーパ４が係合・密着して自動的に締結するように、
テーパ角度は選択される。好ましくは、ステム６は、そ
の前端部分５から伸びるネジの切られたスタッド１６を
有する。スタッド１６は、ステム６と本体２が一緒に組
み立てられるとき貫通孔１２を貫通して伸びるような寸
法に作られている。
【０００９】留具１８は前端部分２０及び末端部分２２
及び縦軸２３を有する。ネジの切られた孔２４は末端部
分２２の方に開いており、ネジの切られたスタッド１６
にネジ止めするように形作られている。前端部分２０
は、レンチを受け入れることができるように駆動部２６
を有する。好ましくは、図示されているように、六角レ
ンチを受け入れるための六角凹部である。図９の態様に
おいて、ステム２３はネジの切られた孔２５を有し、留
具２７はその末端部分から伸びるネジの切られたスタッ
ド２９を有し、該ネジの切られたスタッド２９はネジの
切られた孔２５にネジ止めで係合するように形作られて
いる。
【００１０】スロット３０は末端部分２２に円周状に形
成されており、スプリングタブ２８を規制するように末
端方向へ開いている。スプリングタブ２８は、前端−末
端へ、換言すれば、長手軸線２３に沿った方向へ、弾性
的で変形可能なカンチレバー状の円周方向の延長部材を
形成している。突起部３２は、各スプリングタブ２８の
開放端３４の近傍で末端方向へ伸びている。典型的な態
様として、スプリングタブ２８の上に機械加工され、末
端方向へ突出している小突起を示すことができる。図３
に示すように、突起部３２は、留具１８の末端部の大部
分の形状であって、留具１８が平らな面に取り付けられ
た場合には、突起部３２はその面に接触することとな
る。別の態様では、スプリングタブは突起部３２を有さ
ずに形作られているが、その代わり、常に末端方向へ曲
がっており、開放端３４が留具１８の末端部の大部分の
形状と同じになっている。
【００１１】実際、雄テーパ８は、ネジの切られたスタ
ッド１６と共に雌テーパ４に挿入され、貫通孔１２を貫
通して凹部１０中に伸びている。それらのテーパはしっ
かりと設置される。設置は、槌のようなものを用いて各
部材に衝撃を加えることにより促進される。留具１８
は、スプリングタブ２８が肩部１４と接触するまでネジ
の切られたスタッド１６にネジ止めされる。この時点で
留具１８をさらに締めつけると、スプリングタブ２８は
前端方向へ弾性的に曲がる。好ましくは、留具１８は、
スプリングタブ２８が再生可能な望ましい程度にまで変
形されるようにあらかじめ設定されたトルクまで締めつ
けられる。このように組み立てられて、テーパジョイン
トは良好に設置され、蓄積されたスプリングのエネルギ
ーにより肩部の方に偏ったスプリングタブで圧着が保持
される。スプリングタブ２８と肩部１４の間の摩擦力
は、留具１８のネジのない部分に生じる。歩行など患者
の動作によって移植部材に負荷がかかり、結合が緩んだ
場合は、スプリングタブ２８はスプリング張力のため肩
部の方に移動し、ジョイントを圧着状態に保持するだろ
う。スプリングタブ２８は肩部１４に対して偏って置か
れているから、摩擦は留具１８のネジのない部分に生じ
るように作用する。
【００１２】上記の説明は本発明の好ましい態様であ
り、特許請求の範囲により規定される本発明の範囲と精
神を逸脱しない限り、デザインや構成における種々の変
形によって好ましい態様がなされうるということは当業
者に理解されるだろう。

【発明の効果】本発明の留具により、移植部材の本体要
素とステム要素との間の結合ジョイントであって、当初
から強固に結合し、さらにジョイントが負荷を受けても
強固な結合を保持するような優れた結合ジョイントが提
供される。

Claims (10)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】 整形外科用のモジュール式の複数の移植
    部材要素を一緒に引き寄せるための留具であって、該留
    具は、第１の端部と、第２の端部と、第１の端部と第２
    の端部間に伸びている長手軸線を持つ部材からなり、ス
    プリングタブが第１の端部と第２の端部の一つから伸び
    ており、該スプリングタブが該長手軸線に沿った方向に
    弾性的に変形可能であることを特徴とする留具。
  2. 【請求項２】 移植部材要素の一つとネジ係合しうるよ
    うに、前記部材の一部にネジが切られている請求項１記
    載の留具。
  3. 【請求項３】 移植部材要素の一つの雄ネジと係合する
    ため、前記部材が雌ネジを有する請求項２記載の留具。
  4. 【請求項４】 移植部材要素の一つの雌ネジと係合する
    ため、前記部材が雄ネジを有する請求項２記載の留具。
  5. 【請求項５】 スプリングタブが、第１又は第２の端部
    の一つから突出しているカンチレバー状の円周方向の延
    長部材である請求項２記載の留具。
  6. 【請求項６】 テーパ部分のあるステムと、該テーパ部
    分のあるステムと係合するように形成されたテーパ部分
    のある本体と、ステムのテーパ部分と本体のテーパ部分
    とを係合するように引き寄せるための留具とを備え、該
    留具は該留具から伸びているスプリング要素を持ってお
    り、該留具はステムとネジで係合し、該スプリング要素
    は本体に当接し本体に対して弾性的に付勢されている、
    ことを特徴とするモジュール式の整形外科用移植部材。
  7. 【請求項７】 ステムのテーパ部分と本体のテーパ部分
    が自動的に締結するものである請求項６記載の整形外科
    での移植部材要素モジュール。
  8. 【請求項８】 ステムが雄テーパを有し、本体が雌テー
    パを有する請求項７記載のモジュール式の整形外科用移
    植部材。
  9. 【請求項９】 留具が、スプリング要素の反対側の端に
    凹んだ駆動部を有する請求項８記載のモジュール式の整
    形外科用移植部材。
  10. 【請求項１０】 大腿骨の髄内管に挿入して該大腿骨の
    頭部と置換するためのモジュール式の臀部の人工器具で
    あって、 該大腿骨の該髄内管に挿入するためのステムで、前端部
    分と末端部分を有し、該前端部分の近傍に雄テーパ部及
    び該テーパ部から前端へ伸びるネジの切られたスタッド
    を有するステムと、 該大腿骨の該頭部と置換するための本体であって、前端
    部分と末端部分を有し、ステムの雄テーパ部と係合する
    雌テーパ部を有し、雌テーパ部の孔と本体の末端部分の
    間を連絡する貫通孔を有し、前記ネジの切られたスタッ
    ドが該貫通孔の中に伸びている本体と、 該ステムのテーパ部分と本体のテーパ部分を一緒に引き
    寄せて係合するための留具であって、前端部分と末端部
    分及び該前端部分と末端部分の間に伸びている長手軸線
    を有し、該末端部分は、末端方向へ開いてカンチレバー
    状の円周方向の延長部材を形成する円周に沿った溝を有
    し、該円周方向の延長部材は前端−末端へ弾力で変形可
    能であり、該留具はネジの切られたスタッドと係合して
    ネジ止め可能であり、該円周方向の延長部材は本体の前
    端部分を支え、本体の前端部分に対して弾性的に付勢さ
    れている留具、を有することを特徴とするモジュール式
    の臀部の人工器具。
