Liquid active material evaporator
Technical field
The present invention provides an apparatus for evaporating a liquid active material as defined in the preamble of claim 1 and an apparatus for evaporating the same.
It relates to a process for making such a device.
Background art
A device of this kind is known from DE 37 37 272 A1.
You. In this device, liquid chemicals, especially pesticides, are immersed in the material.
The porous wick (core material) sucks up and acts on the upper end of the wick.
Evaporates by heat.
The problem solved in such known devices is the wicking of inorganic powder.
In improving the rate of evaporation of chemicals from the According to the solution,
It has been proposed to add an antioxidant to the mixture for the production of
The aim is to effectively prevent clogging of the ic.
However, the additional cost required by antioxidants, and the wick is porous
Besides the problem of leakage if the entire device is not maintained vertically,
In such devices, the rate of transport or evaporation of the pesticide (ie, the throughput per unit time) is reduced.
There is also a problem that differs greatly depending on the filling state of the active material container. According to the experiment,
The evaporation rate when the container is almost full differs significantly from that when the container is almost empty
It turns out that.
This will inevitably lead to irregular and incomplete pesticide management.
. In addition, the wick designers have determined that the specified evaporation rate serves the desired insecticidal purpose and
Kills to a level that does not pose a danger to the health of those who spend time near the device
In order to limit the amount of insecticide to be inhaled into the human body, cover the entire filling height of the insecticide container.
We must address the issue of sizing the wick. For example, Piletri
Ordinary insecticides belonging to the class of pyrethroids are in principle applied to all living organisms.
It ’s dangerous
, If the threat is highly neurotoxic, solely dependent on the degree of quantitative control,
The above problem is even more acute. Therefore, precise management of inhalation volume restriction
This is a basic requirement to effectively avoid threats.
Public police increasingly sharpened in recent years on pesticides using evaporation of chemical active materials
Because religion is at least the cause, steaming that can resolve the above suspicions and misunderstandings
Providing a generator is key to success in future markets.
Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to evaporate a liquid active material as described in the preamble of claim 1.
To make the evaporation of the active material even more uniform, especially over the entire effective filling height
In other words, the highest level of the liquid level from the lowest point of the wick where the liquid level of the active material is immersed
A device that allows the evaporation rate to be kept almost constant at any level of the bell
To provide.
Disclosure of the invention
The object of the present invention is to provide a liquid active material according to the preamble of claim 1 and a characteristic part of claim 1.
This is achieved by a device that evaporates by means of minutes.
That is, the form of the wick according to the present invention is the outer periphery of the wick in which the liquid is immersed.
Surface to prevent it from being carried by capillary flow in the direction toward the heating device.
You. On the other hand, at any immersion depth of the wick, the liquid
And enters the bottom of the wick and can flow evenly through the wick.
Advantageous variants of the invention are set out in the dependent claims and described below.
For example, wicks use strong porous materials, such as ceramic materials.
This is particularly advantageous because it enables mass production and at the same time withstands sufficient regeneration.
Physical properties that can be obtained. Lacquer for realizing the desired physical properties of the outer peripheral surface or
Paint, plastic material (eg plastic case or cover) or topcoat
Similar considerations apply to the use of adhesives (eg by powder coating)
Is done. Wick is almost a circle
Preferably, it is cylindrical.
The wick is also preferably coated in the area of the heating device
. This allows the device to tip over and the wick even when the device is not held in a vertical position.
Prevents insecticide from leaking out of the wick when immersed
The benefits that can be created. It is stored and transported before you start using the device
This is especially important when doing so.
In addition, the coating-only in the area of the heating device or over the entire circumference-is not transparent.
Which heats the wick section to operating temperature in the heating section.
Only when the active material evaporates in the area of the heating device. For example, when heating is performed
The coating is permanently dissolved in the area (irreversible elution), or
The coating becomes permeable when heated, but the wick cools afterwards.
Then, it is preferable to lose the permeability (reversible elution). Liquid
To prevent unnecessary escape of active material in the form of wick to be heated.
Can be.
Thus, according to a preferred refinement of the invention, the coating is heated to the operating temperature.
Temperature, it melts or otherwise disappears in the area of the heating device and
The wick can be turned permeable to the evaporating active material. Irreversible dissolution
According to a further preferred form of this refinement corresponding to the description (see above),
The coating is made with seal lacquer, wax or a material with similar melting properties.
Done. On the other hand, according to an improvement of the invention in the method of reversible elution (see above),
The coating becomes porous when the wick reaches operating temperature in the heating device
Thus, it is permeable to the active material which evaporates, whereas it is permeable at lower temperatures.
It can be something that loses sex. Such coatings can also be used on rubber,
Naturally, it is preferably rubber or an equivalent material.
Finally, the coating is not permeable to liquid actives and evaporates
Can be in the form of a membrane that is permeable to active materials
. While preventing liquid from reaching the outer surface unnecessarily, the heated wick
From refinement, sophistication to release the evaporated active material smoothly without allowing liquid leakage
It can be said that it was a method. Preferably, the liquid active material is an insecticide or a perfume
However, some other equivalent materials are also compatible with this evaporation.
The heating device is preferably implemented using PTC. This mechanism is used for evaporating electricity.
Flexible use of gas energy and low cost
Not only that, but also at the same time, the temperature of the heating device
Acts as an adjusting element that always keeps the degree at a constant level.
The device according to the invention is mechanically located in a housing,
The container for the active material is fixed so that it can be removed-for example for replacement purposes.
It is preferable that it is specified. According to a preferred variant of the invention, the container and the housing
The fixation between is particularly suitably effected by means of a screw connection.
In a more preferred design, the housing is easily accessible with a plug formed on it.
Connected to the plug socket and supplied with current at the same time as the socket
The position is maintained mechanically.
According to another aspect of the invention as set forth in the claims, it is also used in a device according to the invention.
Wicks, but not necessarily only used in the present invention,
For drawing or compression molding (especially by extrusion) of starting materials made using Mick substrates
Subsequently, it is manufactured by firing or baking. According to the present invention, the wick is fired
The sintering is performed at a temperature equal to or lower than the sintering temperature defined for the drawing material. In this
The sintering temperature means that the drawn material is dense and does not pass through the liquid active material at all by firing.
It refers to the temperature at which it has a substantially void-free morphology. In particular, according to the present invention,
The permeability of the drawing material (as the starting material of the wick) to the liquid is exclusively the firing temperature
It turns out that it depends on the degree. The higher the firing temperature, the higher the
The evaporation rate exhibited by the wick decreases depending on the sintering temperature.
Cannot effectively evaporate through the wick. Firing time is an important factor in this regard.
Not a Kuta. What is important is the maximum temperature reached. That is, the professional
Temperature that is properly set in the process to control the wick porosity.
You.
Other advantages, features and details of the invention other than the above are described below in the embodiments with reference to the figures.
It is clear from the description.

BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
FIG. 1 shows a first embodiment of an apparatus for evaporating a liquid active material. This first embodiment
Can be said to be the best mode for implementing the present invention. Made of plastic
A generally cylindrical, tapered neck that narrows toward the opening and is filled with liquid insecticide.
The torl-shaped container 1 is attached to and detached from the plastic housing 2 in the area of its opening.
It is screwed as possible.
The heating device 3 shown in a schematic diagram is provided in the housing 2. Generates heat
The heating device must be a PTC (phenylthiocarbamide: insecticide) resistant element
With a current through a power plug 5 fixed to the housing.
Be paid. The power plug simultaneously holds the entire device mechanically in the plug socket
These plug sockets serve a role and always keep the device in a vertical position.
Vertically or horizontally
Rotatably mounted in the housing 2 to fit the contact pairs
ing.
What is provided on the PTC element for heat transfer is a punched product,
The plate 6 can surround a wick (core material) 7. The above mechanism is
Keep the loss level to a minimum by running the shortest distance from the PTC element to the wick.
Contact with the wick virtually without play
An appropriately shaped plate 6 is used to hold the wick to the housing 2.
Form mechanical means. In addition, ceramic wicks are non-combustible materials, so
For example, a device that is safer than a wick that uses cardboard or an equivalent flammable material
Is realized. Furthermore, since the ceramic wick 7 acts as an electrical insulator,
The mechanism described above is electrically stable and safe to use and requires the use of additional insulating materials during manufacture.
Does not need to be used.
The wick 7 having a substantially cylindrical cross section is substantially obtained by mixing clay and wood flour with water.
Porous material made by firing the mixture after drawing and extruding
It consists of a clay body 8.
According to the first embodiment, the wick 7 has the outer peripheral surface of the wick shown in FIG.
It has a coating 9 that extends from the lower end to just before the mounting part of the heating device 3. To wick
Outer peripheral surface in the area of the heating device 3 and the lower end surface 10 and the upper end of the wick
Surface 11 is not coated.
The coating 9 consists of a layer of acrylic lacquer or varnish (for example commercially available
Nail polish is also suitable).
Wick 7 is a pyrethrin-like compound pesticide in paraffin carrier liquid
Into a container 1 filled with a liquid insecticide 12 consisting of In this regard, c
Ic does not allow liquid to permeate up to the highest liquid level in
Is guaranteed to be covered by a coating 9 that is insoluble in the coating. Further wit
A seal (not shown) is provided between the container 7 and the container 1 at the neck of the container.
I have.
In operation, the PTC-heating element 4 is energized by the power plug 5
Raise the temperature. The upper part of the wick 7 arranged in the area of the heating device 3 serves as a heat transfer means.
Heated by the working plate 6.
The liquid insecticide 12 flows through the lower end face 10 of the wick 7 through the lower end face 10 by capillary action.
The heating device 3 moves up to the inside of the clay body 8 and moves by the heating effect.
Evaporate or vaporize (both terms are used synonymously herein)
), It goes out of wick 7 in gaseous form. In this case, the PTC-heating element
The temperature is usually between 100 ° C and 140 ° C, depending on the liquid pesticide conditions chosen.
Maintain a constant temperature. PTC-Resistor properties, ie resistance to temperature fluctuations
The value changes, which causes the current to increase or decrease in response to temperature fluctuations.
It is used in a simple manner to keep the temperature of the upper wick section at an operating level.
Subsequent killing is achieved by the coating 9 on the entire outer surface immersed in the liquid pesticide.
The flow of the insecticide is directed to the clay body 8, whereby the transport action is limited to the area of the lower end face 10
Is done. Thereby, regardless of the filling height of the liquid active material 12 in the container 1,
The effective surface area for the continuous flow of insecticide is always equal in the height direction.
Obstruction, which makes it possible to keep the evaporation rate constant at all filling heights
The prerequisites for doing so are satisfied.
In the following, FIG. 4 shows a known coatingless porous wick.
The reason why the design of the wick according to the present invention is
The flow rate of liquid insecticide can be almost constant at all levels
Is explained.
As shown in FIG. 4 by arrows, the liquid active material passes through all immersion surfaces.
To penetrate the porous wick. So from the bottom up in the wick
A turbulence phenomenon 14 occurs in the vertically extending main transport path (arrow 13). Turbulence phenomenon 14
Especially for the movement of secondary flows entering the wick in the orthogonal direction (lateral: horizontal).
The result is in particular. Turbulence effect
The result 14 impedes the flow in the main transport direction and reduces the flow-through velocity and thus the evaporation rate.
When the liquid level drops (due to liquid consumption), the generated turbulence also decreases, so the main transport flow
The effect of turbulence effects on the surface also depends on the liquid level.
According to the present invention, as compared with the above, the liquid is supplied into the wick in the lateral direction orthogonal to the main transport direction.
If intrusion is prevented, the above-mentioned adverse effects are eliminated and
The relationship allows the fluid flow to be maintained in the correct direction. In this regard,
The results show that the effect of the liquid level-dependent pressure on the transport volume is negligible.
Is shown.
In the illustrated embodiment, the plastic 9 is used as the material of the coating 9.
A cup or varnish was selected, but other materials, such as topcoats or plastic
Base or cover can be used. The important thing in this case is that
Ring 9 does not penetrate the liquid pesticide 12 and does not dissolve in the liquid.
Coating 9 does not peel or dissolve even when stored for long periods
That is. Preferably, the material used for coating, lacquer or varnishing is
, Itself penetrates deeply into the porous clay body 8 to block the void itself,
Therefore, the material does not reduce the effective capillary area.
FIG. 2 is a longitudinal section through a wick 7 according to another embodiment of the present invention.
In this embodiment, the coating 9 covers the entire outer peripheral surface and the upper end surface 11 of the clay body 8.
Is provided. FIG. 2 shows a wick 7 supplied as a part.
Is shown. This wick is mounted as described above on the mechanism shown in FIG.
It can be carried and stored with all the mechanisms,
The liquid can be prevented from leaking from the upper end even when the liquid is inclined. In this embodiment,
9 melts locally when heated, and is therefore used for the first time in evaporators.
Then the upper part of the wick is removed and opened at the operating temperature, and the gaseous insecticide is released
.
The experimental results demonstrate the value of coating 9 in this embodiment.
The proven material is applied thinly and the operating temperature of the PTC or the evaporation temperature at the top of the wick
A seal lacquer or varnish with a melting temperature slightly below. I
However, at the above-mentioned temperatures, they melt or break apart locally in other ways, and thus
Equivalent results with other coatings that expose the wick clay body in minutes.
It is also possible.
As a meltable cap for the wick, the material and thickness are the outer shell of the balloon
It is also conceivable to use a prestressed rubber cover that has been pre-stressed and is almost equivalent to
. The preload rubber changes its strength with increasing temperature. Choosing the right size
Due to the fact that such a cover tears at the operating temperature,
The body can be immediately exposed.
Alternatively, the part can be removed (or re-attached) by hand as appropriate.
It is also conceivable to provide a simple cap.
Considering the temperature used, for example for evaporation purposes, about 120 ° C.
It is possible to use an active material that requires a temperature of
That the dissolution or destruction temperature of the local coating can be adjusted to about 100 ° C
preferable.
FIG. 3 shows a cross-sectional view of the top of a wick according to yet another embodiment of the present invention.
In this embodiment, the entire outer peripheral surface and the upper end surface 11 of the wick 7 are also coated.
9. However, unlike the second embodiment shown in FIG.
During use the coating is maintained in all positions and the wick is heated for the first time
It is not partially destroyed at the time.
This embodiment to ensure that gaseous insecticides are generated when heating occurs
The material used for coating by is gaseous, at least in the heated state
The material must be permeable to insecticides.
Extremely stretchable and forms a somewhat larger hole when properly thin layered
The rubber or raw rubber material to be used must be suitable for this type of coating.
Fees. Such materials become point-like when heated by a heating device.
) To form a hole in the coating as shown in FIG.
The gaseous insecticide then escapes. The hole closes again as the wick cools.
By using such a coating that the hole can be closed again,
Equipment with containers already in use, fitted with wicks and filled with pesticides,
It can be transported in a safe manner.
As an alternative to the above, to form a coating that is permeable when heating occurs
In addition, a plastic material used for a known shrink tube can be used.
. As is well known, this type of shrink tube has the property of shrinking when heated,
As soon as the heating exceeds a certain time and / or temperature, holes, cracks or cracks
Occurs in the material to achieve its intended purpose. But shrink tubing material
The above shrinkage phenomenon is generally irreversible, and this material is
It will not close again.
Alternatively, gaseous insecticides (regardless of temperature) can be passed.
Coated with a membrane with openings through which liquid insecticide cannot pass 9
Can also be used as This type of membrane, for example a Teflon-based membrane,
Generally known, it is necessary to comply with the molecular weight of the insecticide and the above operating conditions
And
The above embodiments have been described by way of example only, and the invention is not limited thereby.
It is not something to be done. Therefore, as long as the principle of the present invention is utilized, a desired
The shape, manufacturing method, and desired cross section can be set. In particular, the term “outside” in this specification
"Circumference" is used to describe the outer peripheral surface of a wick of any shape and cross section.
The idea of the invention is particularly true for coatings on the outer surface, for example indicated by the symbol 9 in FIG.
The case where the ring does not completely extend to the lower end surface 10 is also included. Conversely, the source of the present invention
The reason is that the outer peripheral surface where the coating 9 is immersed in the active material is
A predetermined portion of the outer peripheral surface that extends to a large extent, for example, smaller than the surface of the coating
Minutes should be construed to include what remains uncovered in the area of end face 10
.
The use of the present invention is not limited to the evaporation of liquid pesticides. That is, the device
Also suitable for evaporating liquid pesticides, perfumes or similar chemicals. In this case, appropriate
The bottom surface of the wick (the surface indicated by 10 in the figure) is
Can be completely emptied by being supported in the lowest position of the container, such as
It is preferred that
Thus, by advantageously improving the invention, the penetration of the wick in the longitudinal direction is improved.
The flow rate is determined by adding long wood fiber, cotton thread, etc. in the wick production
In the proper orientation to align the appropriate elongated holes when the wick is completed
Can be increased.
The present invention is intended for products that are suitable for mass production and must be produced in large quantities at a low cost.
Due to this, other forms suitable for mass production would also be particularly preferred. In those forms
Powder coating, especially lacquer or enamel baking, brushes or paintbrushes
Manufactured by rolling and dipping in a suitable lacquer or varnish
Includes a coating on the wick to be made.
Described below is an evaporator of the type described with respect to FIGS.
It is a method of making wicks that is particularly suited for use.
This type of cylindrical ceramic wick is used for electric heating devices or equivalent.
Made from cordierite material commonly used as a support material
Built. Such materials are standardized, for example, according to DIN VDE 0335.
ing.
The above embodiments more precisely include cordierite drawn material, including primarily
Al2O3 (about 34%), SiO2 (about 49%) and MgO (about
2%). This kind of drawing material has a sintering temperature (sintering temperature) of about 130 ° C.
Degree), and firing at this temperature
After that, it is required as an electrical insulator with high heat resistance in its original application area.
To form a substantially sintered body that is substantially impermeable to water, or alternatively,
It is also possible to use barium steatite drawing material containing BaO. This
In this case, other manufacturing conditions described later are the same.
According to the present invention, the drawing material is used in a conventional manner when used as a wick.
Mixed with water (at about 10-20%) or withdrawal oil, then wick
The basic form is determined by drawing and cutting. However, the firing operation requires a sintering temperature of 130 ° C.
It takes place at temperatures significantly below. For applications of the present invention, the firing temperature should be from 1000
A temperature between 1200 ° C, more preferably between 1050 and 1100 ° C.
It has been proven that the wick porosity is
Is determined only by the set firing temperature. Set firing temperature
The higher the height, the smaller the individual voids and accordingly the activity through the wick
The rate of mass transfer or evaporation is reduced. Therefore, in this regard, the firing temperature is
It can be said that it controls the evaporation characteristics of the oil.
The actual firing time-usually about 12 hours-has no effect on porosity
It has further been found that there is no As mentioned above, the essential parameters are set
Firing temperature.
In this regard, the wick according to this embodiment is added to perform the withdrawal.
Other fillers (eg organic materials or equivalent), except for drawn oil or water
It should be noted that it must not contain any The desired porosity is determined according to the invention.
It has already been obtained by setting the firing temperature.
