Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a carriage which is manually driven in a y-direction easily catchable by attaching a handle to the carriage. SOLUTION: A scanner supports a carriage 4 mounted with a light source 6 extended in an x-direction, in a state where the carriage 4 can be moved in a y-direction at both ends in the x-direction and coupled with a y-direction driving wire at one end. A handle 18 which can be turned from a housing position to a using position is attached to the carriage 4, with the center of rotation of the handle 18 at the driving wire-side end. The handle 18 is turned automatically and returned to the housing position from the using position by torque caused by its own weight. The handle 18 has a long hole, though which a long shaft body 19 which becomes the center of rotation is passed in the longitudinal direction for housing the handle 18, with the center of gravity of the handle 18 at the driving wire-side end.

In recent years, in general, OA equipment has been demanded to be small, light and inexpensive, and a small, lightweight and inexpensive scanning apparatus has been desired. Naturally, simplification is required for the configuration of the device itself, and simplification of the y-scan drive system is no exception. In most cases, the one-side drive by the simplification of the drive system is performed by setting one of both ends of the carriage extending in the x direction as a drive side, and arranging a robust support such as a rod or a linear ball rolling slide rail on the opposite side ( The free end, i.e. the other end, is provided with slide rails which hold the carriage.

[0005] In addition, a normal carriage is miniaturized in order to minimize the inertial force, and if a care is not taken of a place where the carriage is held, the carriage touches an exposure light source or a mirror and affects a read image. In addition, since the housing 1 of the image reading apparatus is near the driving side end, when it is difficult to hold the carriage when moving the carriage, there is a risk of injury by touching the edge of a sheet metal or the like.

(1) A carriage (4) on which an illumination light source (6) extending in the x direction is mounted is movably supported at both ends in the x direction in the y direction. On the other hand, in the scanning device coupled to the y-direction driving body (14), the carriage (4) is almost entirely projected from the storage position along the surface of the carriage (4) to the outside of the carriage (4). A scanning device comprising a handle (18) rotatable to a use position where the rotation center is located at the end on the y-direction driving body (14) side. In addition, in order to facilitate understanding, the reference numerals of the corresponding elements in the embodiments shown in the drawings and described later are added for reference in parentheses.

According to this, at the time of manufacture or service in the market, the operator turns the handle (18) from the storage position to the use position, grasps it, and moves in the y direction by hand to move back and forth. Check the condition of the mechanism, such as the lighting (6) and the first mirror (7)
The carriage can be easily manually driven without touching the carriage.

In other words, there is a handle (18) that can be a part to be held when the carriage is moved during manufacturing or when maintenance is performed in the market (exchanging a lamp or cleaning a mirror), so that careless places can be saved. In addition to not causing damage (deformation, etc.) to the carriage, the force required to move the carriage can be smaller than when the carriage has a free end.

In the aspect in which the storage position is set to the horizontal position and the use position is set to the vertical or substantially vertical position, the handle (18) can be stored horizontally so that the contact glass can be stored.
Do not worry about interference with (2), the handle (18) is lengthened to improve operability, or the contact glass (2)
Since it can be held above the holding frame (1a), there is no injuries at the bent edges. As a result, it is possible to achieve both slimness and operability and safety of the device. Also, since the handle (18) is separate from the carriage (4), use a material with low thermal conductivity, such as resin, against high temperatures due to heat conduction when the illuminating lamp is a high heating element such as a halogen lamp. This can prevent discomfort (worst case, burns) when the operator holds the handle (18).

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS (2) The handle (18) rotates to the storage position when the user's acting force disappears at a position outside the storage position (FIG. 6 (b)). In one aspect ((b) of FIG. 6), the use position is an inclined position close to a vertical upright position, the storage position is a horizontal position parallel to the x direction where the detent claw (18b) hooks on the carriage, and in the use position. The handle (18) has a rotating moment due to its own weight (gravity) acting on the handle (18).
When you release your hand from the handle, the handle (18) automatically becomes the storage position.
Note that a return spring may be added to apply a spring force to return the handle (18) to the storage position. Damage to components due to forgetting to store the handle (18) (interference when mounting the contact glass, etc.) can be prevented. (3) The handle (18) has a long hole (18c) which is long in the longitudinal direction and through which the shaft (19) serving as the center of the rotation penetrates (FIG. 7).
Since the handle (18) can slide in the longitudinal direction with respect to the shaft body (19), the handle (18) can be slid in the retracted position closest to the y drive end so that the handle (18) can be slid. The center of gravity is near the y drive end, and the carriage (4)
The stability of the y-scan drive is not impaired. That is, the handle
The long hole (18c) provided in (18) brings the center of gravity of the handle (18) at the storage position closer to the y-scan drive side (in a direction away from the free end side). An increase in the amount of inertia toward the free end, which is caused by a change in behavior due to a jitter and a straight line, can be minimized. As a result, even if the width of the frame (1a) for holding the contact glass or the like in the x direction is large, it is not necessary to worry about the distance from the drive side of the rotation fulcrum of the handle (18) and the length of the handle (18). It is easy to set the optimal handle length, and it is possible to achieve both operability, safety, and image quality (stable behavior during carriage y scanning).

FIG. 4 is an exploded view in which the handle 18 is detached from the first carriage 4. The handle 18 shown in FIGS.
The carriage 4 is passed through the hole 20a of the washer-like elastic member 20 through the screw stem of the screw 19 and further through the round hole 18d of the handle 18.
And the elastic member 20 is compressed. Due to the presence of the elastic member 20, a moderate turning load is applied to the handle 18 and the handle 18 can be turned. However, the handle 18 does not turn unless a considerably strong turning force is applied by hand. Thus, the handle 18 remains in the storage or use position described above.

FIG. 6 shows a modified portion of the first carriage 4 and a modified portion of the handle 18 according to a second embodiment of the present invention. (A) is a main part plan view, and (b) is a front view. Handle 18 and first
The carriage 4 is provided with anti-rotation claws 18b and 4c, respectively.
The angle is less than 90 ° that automatically returns to the storage position indicated by the solid line in the moment of rotation by its own weight. This is defined by the rotation stopping pawl 4c on the first carriage 4 side. The handle 18 automatically returns to a horizontal position (storage position) and rotates by its own weight, and in the horizontal position, the claw 18b for stopping rotation of the handle 18 is moved to the first position.
The upper surface of the carriage 4 is hit, and the handle 18 is maintained in a horizontal position. Here, the elastic member 20 shown in FIG. 4 is not used.

Third Embodiment Referring to FIG. 3, as the width of the frame 1a for supporting the contact glass 2 in the x direction becomes larger, the handle 1 becomes larger.
The distance L from the y-drive mechanism (wire 14) coupling end side of the center of gravity 18a of No. 8 increases. In the third embodiment shown in FIG. 7, in order to prevent this,
Nine round rod-shaped trunks 18c are provided with slidable long holes 18c, which can be slid vertically toward the center in the x direction by the length of the long holes 18c from the storage position shown by the solid line. Thus, the handle 18 located below the frame 1a (storage position) can be raised up higher than the frame 1a and can be grasped by a finger. When the handle 18 is placed at the storage position shown by the solid line, the center of gravity 18a of the handle 18 is closer to the y drive mechanism coupling end (the right end of the first carriage 4 shown in FIG. 7) than the screw 19. Even if the width of the frame 1a in the x direction is large, it is not necessary to worry about the distance from the drive side of the rotation fulcrum (19) of the handle 18 and the length of the handle 18, so that it is easy to set the optimal handle length. Become.
