Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To incorporate water repellence, sizing suitability and recyclability in a front surface of at least one liner by providing a toughed water repellent layer formed by coating, foaming the front surface with a synthetic resin emulsion containing a foaming agent. SOLUTION: A mixture of foaming agent and a synthetic resin emulsion is used as a water repellent. A liner is coated with the water repellent, heated to be dried, and simultaneously foamed. Then, a coating film surface is microscopically roughed, thereby providing a roughed water repellent layer. As the agent, an organic thermally decomposable compound having a particle size of 1 to 20 μm is suitably used, and an azo compound, a hydrazine derivative, an azide, a triazole compound to the like is used. Its using amount is suitably 5 to 50% of the repellent by a solid content ratio. As the emulsion, an acrylic ester copolymer, a styrene-acrylic ester, a styrene-acrylic acid resin copolymer or the like is used. A coating amount is suitably 1 to 30 g/m2 by a solid content.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, cardboard boxes have been widely used for transportation. However, when the contents of fruits and vegetables, fresh fish, meat, frozen foods and the like contain moisture, and low-temperature transportation is required to maintain freshness. Corrugated cardboard provided with water repellency and water resistance is used as a material for contents that need to be condensed and that may cause dew condensation. As such a cardboard, the surface of the cardboard is coated with molten wax,
Alternatively, there is a corrugated cardboard impregnated with wax. However, such cardboard to which a large amount of wax has adhered cannot be recycled as waste paper. Furthermore, if these are mixed by mistake into ordinary corrugated cardboard and collected as used paper, there is a problem that paper breakage occurs in the papermaking process of the recycled paper, and black wax spots appear on the product, significantly lowering the commercial value. There is also a cardboard liner in which a synthetic resin film such as polyolefin is bonded. These were also recovered as waste paper and could not be used as raw materials for pulp, and after use they were incinerated or landfilled.

[0003] For this reason, various cardboards that have water repellency and water resistance and are used as a raw material for waste paper pulp after use, and can be recycled, have been proposed in recent years as the trend of resource recycling is fostered. For example, a method has been proposed in which a synthetic resin emulsion and a wax emulsion are applied to the surface of a liner to impart water-resistant and water-repellent functions to a cardboard. (Japanese Patent Application No. 57-118469). A corrugated cardboard provided with such a water-repellent layer made of a synthetic resin emulsion, a wax emulsion or the like has a water-repellent function and can be re-disintegrated as used paper, and therefore can be recycled.

By the way, in order to manufacture a cardboard box from cardboard, glue must be applied by a gluer in a box making process and the cardboards must be bonded to each other. Normally, the production of a cardboard box is performed at a speed of 100 to 200 cases per minute, and the time from application of glue to fixation is 10 to 1 time.
It is performed in a short time of less than 5 seconds. However, an aqueous paste such as a vinyl acetate emulsion whose solid content and viscosity are appropriately adjusted is mainly used as the paste for cardboard boxes. Therefore, making the surface of the liner, which is the surface to be adhered of the cardboard, water-repellent also means that the above-mentioned water-based glue becomes difficult to adhere. Therefore, improving the water repellency of the corrugated cardboard liner surface also impairs the suitability for gluing at the time of manufacture, which has been a major problem. As a method for solving such a problem, the surface of the coating layer corresponding to the glue coating surface is rubbed with a metal brush or the like to be roughened, perforated, or the coating layer is peeled off with a solvent. Ways have been tried. However, in these methods, the number of steps is increased as compared with the related art, and thus a problem in production efficiency has occurred.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS The present invention has been studied to improve the above-mentioned problem. As a result, a synthetic resin emulsion obtained by adding a foaming agent is used as a water-repellent agent. In this way, the surface of the coating film is micro-roughened to make it easier to apply the water-based glue, thereby improving the suitability for gluing during the production. Further, there are various kinds of substances referred to as a foaming agent, and the foaming agent suitably used in the present invention is an organic thermal decomposition compound. Azo compounds, as organic thermal decomposable compounds,
Hydrazine derivatives, azide compounds, triazole compounds,
Nitroso compounds, semicarbazide compounds and the like can be mentioned. Further, the foaming agent used in the present invention preferably decomposes at a relatively low temperature of about 120 ° C. In consideration of safety and stability, azodicarbonamide (ADCA), nitrosopentamethylenetetramine (DPT), p, p'-oxybisbenzenesulfonylamide (OBSH) and the like are preferably used. By using a decomposition accelerator such as an amine together with these foaming agents, the decomposition and foaming temperature of the foaming agent can be reduced. The amount of the foaming agent used is 5 to 50% of the water repellent in solid content ratio.
Is appropriate. Further, the particle diameter of the foaming agent used in the present invention is preferably in the range of 1 to 20 μm, more preferably 5 to 8 μm. When it is smaller than 1 μm, the surface of the coating layer is not sufficiently roughened, and hence the effect of improving the suitability for pasting cannot be obtained. On the other hand, if it is larger than 20 μm, the coated surface is excessively roughened, so that water repellency and water resistance are impaired.

The water-repellent paint can be applied to the liner by using a conventionally used coating machine such as a bar coater, an air knife coater, a blade coater, a gravure coater, etc., if necessary. In addition, the front side of the liner is the side that becomes the sheet surface when making it into a cardboard sheet,
That is, it refers to the liner surface opposite to the bonding surface with the core. The coating amount of the water-repellent paint is 1 to 30 in solid content.
g / m 2 is appropriate. The base paper on which the paint is applied,
A commonly used liner base paper or a water-resistant liner base paper can be arbitrarily used as needed. In addition, a liner, a core paper, a paperboard, and a general paper can be bonded to this and used. Furthermore, the surface of the liner base paper or the like may be provided with water repellency by applying a water repellent that does not adversely affect the recyclability of the wax emulsion or the like. In that case, the water-repellent paint of the present invention can be applied only to the portion of the cardboard sheet to be coated with glue during the production. The liner after the application of the water-repellent paint is first bonded to the core base paper with a single facer, and then bonded with a double facer to make a corrugated cardboard sheet. Printing and punching this sheet with flexo folder gluer (FFG)
Then, glue is applied to form a cardboard case. In preparing the cardboard box in the present invention, it is desirable that the roughened water-repellent layer be outside the box.

In order to carry out the present invention, it is necessary to foam a foaming agent in the paint when applying and drying the water-repellent paint. When the above-mentioned foaming agent suitable for the present invention, which foams at about 120 ° C., is used, foaming of the water-repellent layer is almost completed by drying at 130 ° C. or more for 60 seconds or more.
In the present invention, a water-repellent paint containing a foaming agent is applied to the front side of the liner base paper, dried under the above conditions to form a roughened water-repellent layer, and a cardboard sheet is manufactured using the liner. . When laminating the corrugated cardboard sheet, the roll temperature is 160
The coated surface of the water-repellent paint comes in direct contact with the preheater roll at ~ 180 ° C. The holding time of this portion is usually within 10 seconds, but the foaming agent which has not been foamed by these two stages of heating also foams, and a roughened water-repellent layer is obtained on the corrugated cardboard surface.
