字箇所毎に異なる色で印字したいという要望があり、図
5に示すように単一のシート基材に複数色の転写用イン
キを、例えば5(赤)、6 (黒)のように部位毎に塗り分
けたインキシート7も知られている。しかし、この種の
インキシートは一つのシート基材に色インキ毎に1色ず
つ塗布・乾燥・巻き取り等を繰り返して製造するもの
で、製造に膨大な手数がかかるものであった。本発明は
上記従来技術の問題に鑑みなされたもので、本発明の第
1の目的は広幅な印字ヘッドを用いて印字密度に偏りが
あるような印刷を繰り返し行っても、インキシートに延
びや膨張による障害を発生しにくいインキ供給装置を提
供することにある。また、本発明の第2の目的は安価な
単色のインキシートを組み合わせて色分け印字ができる

トを送り出す。巻取部10は図2に示す如く、複数の巻
芯16,17,18,19と支持軸20から大略構成さ
れる。各巻芯16〜19は両端にフランジ状の摩擦部1
6A,17A,18A,19Aを有する円筒状をなし、
各摩擦部を除いたこの円筒の上に使用済みのインキシー
トを巻き取るようになっている。そして、各巻芯16〜
19はその摩擦部間に後述するスペーサ部材21を介し
て支持軸20上に回転可能に支持される。支持軸20は
図3に示すように基端側に鍔状の摩擦部20Aが、先端
側に雄ねじ部20Bが形成され、中間には径方向に対向
し軸方向に伸長する2つの係合溝20Cが形成されてい
る。また、該支持軸20の先端側には前記摩擦部20A
と対をなすように、後述する押圧部材(他の摩擦部)が設
けられている。21は前記巻芯16,17,18,19
の摩擦部間に介挿されたスペーサ部材で、該各スペーサ
部材21はリング状のスペーサ本体21Aと、該スペー
サ本体21Aの側面に径方向外側から中心に向けて螺着
された一組の係止ねじ21Bと、前記スペーサ本体21
Aの両端面に貼着されたフエルトなどの摺動抵抗部材2
1Cとからなる。そして、該スペーサ部材21は支持軸
20に挿通され、各係止ねじ21Bを締めて係合溝20
C内に進入させることにより回転運動を規制され、軸方
向の移動を許容される。22は支持軸20の先端側に配
設された他の摩擦部としての押圧部材で、該押圧部材2
2は前記スペーサ部材21と略同様の本体22A,係止
ねじ22B,巻芯19側にのみ貼着された摺動抵抗部材
22Cとからなり、前記巻芯19の先端側にスペーサ部
材21と同様にして取り付けられる。23は支持軸20
の基端側の摩擦部20Aと巻芯16の摩擦部16Aの間
に介挿された摩擦パッドで、該摩擦パッド23は前記摺
動抵抗部材21Cと同様、フェルトなどからリング状に
形成されたもので、前記摺動抵抗部材21Cのようにス
ペーサ本体21Aに貼着などの手段で一体化されていて
もよい。24は支持軸20のねじ部20Bに螺着された
締めねじ、25は支持軸20の外周で締めねじ24と押
圧部材22の間に支持された付勢ばねを示し、該付勢ば
ね25は前記締めねじ24を締め付けることにより前記
押圧部材22を介して各巻芯16〜19を支持軸20の
摩擦部20A側に付勢する。このとき、各巻芯16〜1
9はスペーサ部材21、押圧部材22、摩擦パッド23
を介してその摩擦部16A〜19Aを隣接する巻芯の摩
擦部または支持軸の摩擦部20Aに向け押圧しつつ、支
持軸20に回転可能に支持される。本実施の形態は以上
の如く構成され、巻取部10が回転するときには原則と
して各巻芯16〜19が支持軸20と一体回転する。し
かし、各インキシート12〜15に所定値以上の張力が
加わったときには、各摩擦部とスペーサ部材21の摺動
抵抗部材21C、押圧部材22の摺動抵抗部材22C、
摩擦パッド23が滑り、各巻芯に空転を許すようにな
る。従って、本インキ供給装置をラベルプリンタに用い
れば、各インキシートがそれぞれ別々に生産されたもの
を複数組み合わせたものだから、低コストで各インキシ
ートに対応した色分け印字ができる。そして、各インキ
シート12〜15に一定値以上の張力が加わったときに
各巻芯16〜19に空転を許すようにしたから、特定の
色インキを多用するような印字様式や偏った印字密度の
印字を繰り返して行い、各インキシートに加圧、加熱に
よる伸びや膨張が生じても、各インキシート12〜15
の巻き取り量(各巻芯の回転量)の差として吸収され、イ
ンキシートに張力不均一に起因する障害が発生するのを
抑え、印字品質が向上できる。さらに、印字用紙や印刷
様式によっては色違いの各インキシート12〜15が軸
方向に隙間をもって離間していてもよく、本実施形態は
これに対応して各巻芯16〜19間にスペーサ21を設
けたものである。これにより、巻取部10が回転してイ
ンキシートを巻き取るときに隣接する各インキシート同
士が干渉したり、重なって巻き取られるなどの動きをス
ペーサ21により規制できる他、サイズの融通が利くよ
うになる等、種々の効果を奏する。なお、前記実施の形
態では4個の巻芯(インキシート)からなるインキ供給装
置を例示したが、本発明はこれに限るものでなく、2個
以上の巻芯を有するものでれば適用可能である。また、
スペーサ21は大径の円板状のものを例示したが、本発
明に用いるスペーサとは隙間を一定に確保できる部材で
あれば、扇形、正方形、長方形など他の形状も含み、イ
ンキシートの巻き径より小径なものも含む概念である。
