区分割処理部7aを設けて、その手順により予めMPU
3により、当該車輌が走行する該当領域20を補正エリ
アとなる複数の地区21、22に分割したテーブルを作
成しておく。分割する地区21、22は、河川23等の
重要な部分を境界とし、これを除いて設定する。ユーザ
(車輌の運転者等)は、当該車輌に搭載したAVM装置
5の入力部6から、当該車輌がどの地区を走行中か等の
動態情報例えば地区21を入力する。入力した動態情報
は、動態情報取得処理部7bの手順でMPU3に取得す
る。MPU3では、車輌位置補正処理部7cの手順によ
り取得した動態情報と、GPS受信機2から得られた車
輌位置例えば地区22の地点22aとを比較し、誤差が
ある場合には車輌位置をAVMから入力された地区21
内の地点22aから最も近い道路上21aに補正する。
なお、車輌位置補正処理部7cには、予めGPSの誤差
範囲を設定しておき、GPSから得られた車輌位置の補
正量がその誤差範囲を越える場合には、AVM装置5か
ら入力した動態情報に誤りがあるものとして、前記補正
を行わないこととする。
