According to a first aspect of the present invention, there is provided a terminal fitting comprising an electric contact portion fastened to an object to be electrically connected by bolts and nuts, and a terminal of the electric wire. A substrate portion to be placed, and a crimping portion for crimping a terminal of the electric wire placed on the substrate portion, and after crimping of the electric wire, the substrate portion and the crimping portion are shrunk with a hot melt. In the terminal fitting for waterproofing, an inflow hole into which the molten hot melt flows is provided between the electric contact portion and the caulked portion of the substrate portion.

According to such a configuration, it is possible to prevent the molten hot melt from flowing into the inflow hole and adhering to the electric contact portion. Thus, the bolts and nuts for fastening the electrical contact portions do not interfere with the solidified hot melt, and the bolts and nuts can be prevented from loosening.

Further, by providing the inflow hole, the strength of the substrate portion between the electric contact portion and the caulked portion can be appropriately reduced, and the electric contact portion fastened by bolts and nuts can be crimped. By cutting and separating the part at the portion where the inflow hole is formed, the electric wire can be removed from the vehicle body without turning the bolts and nuts. Thereby, the recyclability of the terminal fitting can be improved.

According to such a configuration, the molten hot melt is guided by the guide wall and efficiently flows into the inflow hole, so that adhesion to the electric contact portion can be reliably prevented. Further, the guide walls provided on both sides of the inflow hole improve the strength of the substrate portion between the electric contact portion and the caulking portion, so that a larger inflow hole can be provided. Furthermore, by providing a larger inflow hole, the recyclability of the terminal fitting can be improved.
