Description of the Related Art In a passenger conveyor, balustrades are erected on both left and right sides of a group of steps (steps), and panel surfaces constituting inner and outer side surfaces of the balustrades are formed of tempered glass or the like. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly clean the panel surface to remove dust and dirt adhering to the panel surface, since there is much dust and the dirt is conspicuous and the passengers often come into contact with clothes and hands. Conventionally, such an operation of cleaning the balustrade panel has been manually performed by an operator using a cleaning tool such as a cloth or a cleaning blade.

When cleaning by work, the worker must lean out of the balustrade, press the cleaning tool against the panel surface, and then wipe off the dirt. However, cleaning work performed in such an unreasonable posture,
Since it is difficult to apply force to the cleaning tool, it is difficult to remove dirt such as hand marks and fingerprints, and there is also a problem in work safety. In addition, if the escalator has a long stroke or the number of installed escalators is large, it takes a lot of time and effort to manually clean the balustrade panels. I will not be able to do it.

By running the rail, the cleaning blade can be slid against the panel surface by the running force of the handrail, so that the dirt on the panel surface can be automatically removed. Therefore, the work efficiency is greatly improved as compared with the case where the panel surface is manually cleaned, and the outside surface of the balustrade, which is difficult to clean by hand, can be cleaned without difficulty similarly to the inner surface.

This is preferable because the cleaning device can be easily attached to and detached from the passenger conveyor.
At this time, the holding member is provided with elastic force applying means for urging the pair of legs in a direction approaching each other while the cleaning blade is in contact with the panel surface of the balustrade, or the pair of legs is used as the holding member. By adopting a flexible member that allows the members to come close to each other, the cleaning blade can be elastically contacted with the panel surface during use. Therefore, the cleaning blade is slid while keeping the cleaning blade in close contact with the panel surface. Can be easily removed.

First, the legs 2A and 2B of the holding member 2 are opened against the pulling force of the elastic force applying means 4 so that the opposing cleaning blades 3 are separated. After disposing the balustrade 6 so as to sandwich it, the gripping member 1 is attached to the handrail 5 by pushing the gripping member 1 into the handrail 5 from above in a state where both ends in the width direction are expanded. The cleaning pad 3A of the cleaning blade 3 is brought into elastic contact with the panel surface 6A of the balustrade 6. The holding member 2 is held at one end of the holding member 1.
A pair of cleaning pads 3A held by the holding member 1 are impregnated with a cleaning agent in advance, but the pair of cleaning pads 3A held by the other holding member 2 at the other end of the gripping member 1 is dedicated to wiping, so that cleaning is performed. The agent is not impregnated.

Run 5 Then, as the handrail 5 runs, the cleaning pad 3A slides on the panel surface 6A, so that the dirt attached to the panel surface 6A can be removed by the cleaning pad 3A. However, when the above-described cleaning device is mounted, the side where the cleaning pad 3A is impregnated with the cleaning agent is set so as to be forward in the traveling direction. With this arrangement, the preceding cleaning pad 3A functions to apply a cleaning agent to the panel surface 6A to remove dirt as the handrail 5 travels, and the subsequent cleaning pad 3A functions as the panel surface 6A.
Since the cleaning agent and the dirt remaining on the surface are wiped off, it is possible to continuously perform a reasonable and efficient cleaning.

Since the dirt on the panel surface 6A can be automatically removed, the work efficiency is greatly improved as compared with the case where manual cleaning is performed, and the outer panel surface 6A of the balustrade 6 which is difficult to clean manually is also provided. As with the inner panel surface 6A, cleaning can be performed without difficulty. Further, in the present embodiment, the cleaning pad 3A can be elastically contacted with the panel surface 6A by the pulling force of the elastic force applying means 4, so that the cleaning pad 3A can be slid while being kept in close contact with the panel surface 6A. It is easy to remove dirt. Moreover, in the present embodiment, the cleaning agent applied to the cleaning pad 3A provided at the front part of the cleaning device is set so that the cleaning pad 3A provided at the rear part can be wiped off, so that the working efficiency and the cleaning effect are extremely good. It is. The holding member 2
Holds the central portion of each cleaning blade 3 via the hinges 2C and 2D, so that each cleaning pad 3A on which the pulling force of the elastic force applying means 4 acts on the central portion is in close contact with the panel surface 6A over its entire length. Therefore, cleaning unevenness due to poor adhesion of the cleaning pad 3A is less likely to occur.

A pair of legs 2A and 2B having flexibility to allow approach and separation between the legs and not having the hinge 2E at the top, in other words, formed into an inverted U-shape with an appropriate material. The use is made of a material having flexibility that can push and spread the legs 2A and 2B slightly in the direction of opening the legs. Therefore, the elastic force applying means 4 such as a tension spring is omitted. , Is largely different from the above embodiment. That is, the holding member 2 shown in FIG. 4 has the leg portions 2A,
Since the interval between 2B is designed to be smaller than the sum (2 × t1 + t2) of the sum of the thickness t1 of each cleaning blade 3 held by both 2A and 2B and the thickness t2 of the balustrade 6. In use, the cleaning pad 3A of each cleaning blade 3 can be brought into elastic contact with the panel surface 6A of the balustrade 6 by the restoring force of the holding member 2. Such a cleaning device does not need to be provided with a tension spring or the like, and thus has an advantage that the configuration can be simplified.
