Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a glass having an uneven pattern by which the uneven pattern and a resin film can uniformly be pressed thereto without damaging the glass. SOLUTION: A resin film 6, a bonding layer 7 and a sheet of glass 8 are superimposed and placed on an uneven pattern of a pedestal 1 and a sheet 9 is provided thereon to form a hermetically sealed space 12. Air in the resultant hermetically sealed space 12 is then sucked with a vacuum pump 13 to stretch the sheet 9. The uneven pattern and the resin film 6 are uniformly pressed to the sheet of glass 8 by the tensile force of the sheet 9 and the resin film 6 is bonded to the glass 8 to produce the sheet of glass 8 having the uneven pattern.

2. Description of the Related Art As a method for producing glass having an uneven pattern on the glass surface, for example, Japanese Patent Publication No. 59-24101.
The manufacturing method shown in the publication is known. This manufacturing method provides a curable resin layer on the glass surface, creates a molding die having an uneven pattern corresponding to the uneven pattern to be attached to the glass surface, and heats the curable resin layer while pressing the molding die. And the curable resin layer is adhered to the glass surface to cause uneven deformation, and then the molding die is peeled off from the curable resin layer.

In the above-described manufacturing method, the surface of the curable resin layer is unevenly deformed into an uneven pattern following the uneven pattern of the molding die, so that the molding die is formed on the surface of the curable resin layer. It is important to press with a uniform pressing force.

However, it is general to press the molding die against the surface of the curable resin layer by mechanical force with a press machine or the like, and to uniformly press the molding die onto the surface of the curable resin layer. It is difficult. Moreover, when the glass is pressed by mechanical force, the glass may be damaged by the impact force acting on the glass.

According to a first aspect of the present invention, a resin film 6, an adhesive layer 7 and a glass 8 are sequentially stacked and placed on a pedestal 1 having an uneven pattern. 8 is covered with a sheet 9, and the sheet 9 is fixed to the pedestal 1 to form a closed space 12. The closed space 12 is decompressed and the sheet 9 is pulled toward the pedestal 1 to form an uneven pattern. The method for producing a glass with an uneven pattern is characterized in that the resin film 6, the resin film 6 and the adhesive layer 7, and the adhesive layer 7 and the glass 8 are heated while being pressed against each other.

As shown in FIG. 2, a sheet 9 is placed over the glass 8 and the upper surface 1a of the pedestal 1 to cover the patterning die 4, the resin film 6, the adhesive layer 7, and the glass 8. The holding frame 10 is pressed toward the peripheral edge of the sheet 9 via the sealing material 11 and airtightly pressed against the upper surface 1a of the pedestal 1 on the peripheral edge of the sheet 9. As a result, a closed space 12 is formed between the pedestal 1 and the patterning die 4, the resin film 6, the adhesive layer 7, and the glass 8. The sheet 9 is a plastic sheet and is not deformed by heat.

By irradiating the resin film 6 with ultraviolet rays as a pretreatment so as to activate the surface (increase the wettability and improve the tackiness), the adhesive force between the resin film 6 and the adhesive layer 7 is improved. An ultraviolet lamp is used to irradiate the aforementioned ultraviolet rays. The capacity of this ultraviolet lamp is 1000 W / m 2 or more with respect to the resin film 6. The irradiation time of ultraviolet rays is 15 seconds or more.

Further, as shown in FIG. 5, characters, figures, patterns and the like are printed on the resin film 6 in advance, and the printed portion 16 is superposed so as to be in contact with the adhesive layer 7 and processed as described above. It is possible to manufacture glass having the portion 16 and the uneven pattern 15. The printing unit 16 may use the adhesive layer 7 as an adhesive sheet, and may print in advance on the adhesive sheet. When manufacturing this glass, the resin film 6 is transparent.
