Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a heat reserving property and resilience restoring power after pressurization of a down quilt, to eliminate an animal odor and to prevent decomposition along use or adhesion of insects by mixing granular/linear floating material containing antibacterial and deodorant agents with down filled in as stuffing of the down quilt. SOLUTION: When granular/linear floating material containing antibacterial and deodorant agents is mixed with down-filled into a down quilt as its stuffing, an excellent heat reserving property and resilience restoring power are provided, while antibacterial and deodorant effects are provided. For the floating material, very fine grain made of foamed polystyrene and provided with a diameter of 0.5-2.0 mm or fine synthetic fiber with a fineness of 10 denier or less is used. Fine grain type foamed polystyrene moldings are engaged with the filament of down so as to remain in down without being separated from the down when they are dispersed in the down, so that a heat retaining property of the down is assisted. Distortion due to compression is restored by its resilience, so that deterioration of the heat retaining property accompanying increase of density due to compression can be restored.

2. Description of the Related Art Duvets using feathers, downs and the like as cotton in a futon have been widely used because of their light weight and good heat retention. However, because it is easily compressed by pressure and its density increases,
When pressurized, the heat retention decreases due to the increase in density,
Further, since the elastic recovery force after pressurization is small, there is a tendency that the heat retention force is kept in a reduced state for a long time. Further, feathers are also excellent in sweat absorption properties, and thus heat retention may be reduced by sweat absorption. In addition, since feathers are composed of animal proteins, they have an animal odor, and have a problem in that they rot or sweat due to sweat after long-term use.

When the above-mentioned floating substances are mixed and dispersed in feathers, they do not separate from the feathers and accumulate in a part of the side fabric of the futon. Any fine particles having a diameter of 0.5 to 2.0 mm made of expanded polystyrene and fine synthetic fibers having a fineness of 10 denier or less are exemplified.

[0006] Expanded polystyrene is itself porous, has a very small apparent specific gravity, is excellent in heat retention, and has elasticity. Therefore, when the expanded polystyrene is formed into fine particles, when dispersed in feathers, it is retained by the feathers without being separated from the feathers and retained in the feathers, thereby helping to keep the feathers warm. Then, since the strain due to the compression is restored by elasticity, the decrease in the heat retention due to the increase in the density due to the compression is restored.

The smaller the diameter of the above-mentioned fine particles made of expanded polystyrene, the better, but practically 0.5 to 0.5 μm.
2.0 mm is preferred. If the diameter is less than 0.5 mm, the particles are easily scattered in the air, and handling becomes difficult.
If it exceeds mm, it becomes easy to separate without being locked between the feathers of the feather. The mixing ratio of the fine particles of the expanded polystyrene,
Preferably, 5 to 30% of the feather weight is less than 5%, which is ineffective. On the other hand, if it exceeds 30%, it is easy to separate from feathers and it is uneconomical. The apparent specific gravity is 0.1
It is preferably 5 or less, and if it exceeds 0.15, it is easy to separate from feathers.

[0008] Synthetic fibers, particularly polyester fibers, are rich in elasticity, and particularly those subjected to crimping are rich in bulkiness. Synthetic fibers having a fineness of 10 denier or less are thin and have a soft texture, so that they are mixed with feathers and have little discomfort. Its length is arbitrary, and it can be used at about 1000 mm, but from the viewpoint of practicality, it is 3 to 150 mm.
mm is preferred. In particular, when the fiber length is as short as about 3 to 10 mm, when the fineness is reduced to 2 deniers or less, the fibers are locked to the feathers like the fine particles of expanded polystyrene. On the other hand, a long piece of 10 mm or more floats and enters into a large number of feathers while constituting a part of the futon. In any case, as in the case of the fine particles made of the expanded polystyrene, the heat retention of the feather is assisted, the distortion due to compression is elastically recovered, and the decrease in the heat retention due to the increase in density due to compression is recovered. However, if the fineness exceeds 10 denier, the rigidity increases and the soft feel of the duvet is lost, which is not preferable. In addition, the mixing ratio of the synthetic fiber is preferably 5 to 30% of the feather weight, and if it is less than 5%, there is no effect, and if it exceeds 30%, it becomes easy to separate from the feather and the texture of the feather is lost.

According to the present invention, antibacterial and deodorant properties are previously imparted to the floating particles such as the above-mentioned fine particles of expanded polystyrene and synthetic fibers. To provide antibacterial and deodorant properties,
Known antibacterial agents and deodorants can be previously kneaded into the above-mentioned fine particles or synthetic fibers, or applied to the surface. As a preferable antibacterial / deodorant, a rock powder (“Tenori stone powder” manufactured by Only Chemical Inc.) containing an inorganic antibacterial / deodorant is exemplified. This rock powder has far-infrared emissivity, and the emissivity of far-infrared rays having a wavelength of 4 to 24 μm is 80%.
In recent years, it has attracted attention as it has the effect of promoting plant growth and reviving weakened plants when mixed with flower pot soil, and has the effect of growing chickens robustly and preventing egg yolk from collapsing when mixed with chicken feed. However, as a result of research, the present inventors have found that this rock powder has antibacterial and deodorant properties.

On the other hand, if it is too fine, the production cost is high and uneconomical. The weight of the floating substance is preferably 3 to 15% by weight, and if it is less than 3%, the desired effect cannot be obtained.
If it exceeds, it becomes heavy and uneconomical. In addition, what has far-infrared radiation, such as the above-mentioned "tendonite powder", is preferable in that it also contributes to the heat retention of the futon.
