Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a ceiling flush type air conditioner comprising a fan and a heat exchanger arranged in the wind path in a cabinet in which generated dews can be collected surely while reducing heat loss by securing a baffle plate for partitioning the primary air on the air inlet side of a cabinet and the secondary air on the air outlet side to a front plate on the air outlet side. SOLUTION: Primary air sucked from an air inlet 1a of a cabinet 1 is subjected to heat exchange through a heat exchanger 3 and blown out as air conditioned air (secondary air) from an air outlet 1b. Dews formed in the heat exchanger 3 drop to be stored in a drain pan 4. Dews may be formed if a temperature difference exist between the secondary air and the air in the ceiling on the outside of the cabinet 1. A primary air layer having heat insulating function is thereby formed by disposing a baffle plate 5 between the secondary air and the air in the ceiling on the outside of the a side plate 1d. Consequently, dews are formed by temperature difference not on the outer shell of the cabinet 1 but on the outside of the baffle plate 5 and collected in the drain pan 4.

In the conventional ceiling-mounted air conditioner, a partition plate for partitioning the primary air on the suction side and the secondary air on the discharge side is disposed between the heat exchanger side plate and the cabinet side plate. Therefore, the dimension in the width direction of the heat exchanger is increased, and as a result, the width dimension of the unit is increased. This increases the volume of the area where the secondary air stays in the cabinet and increases the contact area with the secondary air after heat exchange with the cabinet that is in contact with the ceiling air, increasing heat loss. This causes air conditioning efficiency to decrease. In addition, dew on the cabinet outer wall was generated, and the ceiling material could be wetted.
