本物品は即席カップ麺などの容器のフタ用固定具である。カップ麺は食器を兼ねた容器に即席麺、具材などが封じてあり、湯を注げば調理が完了する簡便な食糧として普及している。カップ麺は容器上部がラミネート紙などで封緘してあり、調理にあたってはフタの端部を剥がし熱湯を注いで所定時間を待つ。この間にフタが浮き上がり湯気が抜けることがないようカップ麺の端部に本物品を置いてフタと容器とを密着させる。本物品は円弧と直角の異なる形状の周辺部からなり、容器の平面形状が円形、矩形のいずれのカップ麺にも対応できる（使用状態を示す参考斜視図１，２）。本物品の材料はプラスチックであるのが好ましく種々の着色を施すことができる。This product is a fixing device for the lid of a container such as instant cup noodles.
