本物品は、歯ブラシの動きを可聴化するリズム発生歯ブラシである。歯科衛生士の刷掃動作に関する研究において、歯磨き動作には各個人に固有のリズムがあることが判っている。歯面に付着しているプラークを正しく、効率よく歯ブラシで除去するためには、歯ブラシを正しく歯面にあて、リズミカルに動かすことが重要となる。歯ブラシの動きを音で認識することで、自分の動きを自覚し、正しいリズムを習得できるようになり、患者のブラッシング技術を向上させることが可能となる。本物品の構造としては、歯ブラシのハンドル部分に空洞を設け、内部にやや重みのある直径６ｍｍ程度の球駒を入れる。歯ブラシの往復運動をすることで、空洞内を球駒が動き、「カタカタ」と音がなる。球駒を入れたハンドルに透明のカバーを嵌め、カバーがはずれたり、空洞内部に水が浸入したりすることのないよう密封する。歯ブラシ部分は交換式とする。The article is a rhythm-generating toothbrush that renders the movement of the toothbrush audible.
