Abstract
A process is provided to facilitate recovery of metals and salts such as lithium from salt-bearing natural waters by controlled evaporation of brines containing such metals without extensive chemical reaction by use of a series of evaporation ponds to produce a fluid from which the metals and salts can be more easily and economically extracted.
