Abstract
Convention of shale oil, shale oil rock, sandstone or limestone with encapsulated kerogens or other precursors of like kind, as source materials thereof, yield low viscosity, hydrogenated products, and allow ammonia, sulfur, and metal value recovery from these source materials; the reactions with these source materials are in the presence of an alkali metal hydrosulfide or alkali metal sulfide or polysulfide reagent with hydrogen sulfide and steam, and includes reagent work- up for reuse in the process.
