Tutti sanno che i sigari abbisognano di temperatura ed umidità costanti per garantire la fragranza e la piacevolezza della fu mata. Una volta applicato il trovato proporzionato alle dimensioni dell'interno di una scatola per sigari, questo dovrebbe garantire la perfetta umidificazione dei sigari con un grado di umidità relativo del 70% circa per la durata di circa 30 giorni. Fattori quali umidità dell'aria esterna, quantità di sigari da umidificare e buona ermeticità della scatola, possono variare i tempi di ricarica. Quando 1'umidità all'interno delle scatole per sigari risulta inferiore, il trovato va ricaricato con acqua distillata.
