Dal brevetto italiano n. 0001397732 dal titolo "Metodo per la realizzazione di una maglia di catena per gioielleria ed oreficeria, dispositivo per la produzione e maglia di catena prodotta", depositato il 15 gennaio 2010 al protocollo 102010901800120 (MI2010A000037) a nome della società OMBI S.R.L. di Strambino (TO) e reso accessibile al pubblico il 16 luglio 2011, è nota la possibilità di realizzare una maglia per una catena di gioielleria, oreficeria, argenteria e bigiotteria in cui le pareti laterali della maglia 201 sono ripiegate intorno ad un asse centrale verticale 202 realizzando una forma di maglia che è atta ad essere contenuta in un cilindro avente il medesimo asse 202. Con riferimento alle citate figure, il maglia per una catena da gioielleria, oreficeria, argenteria e bigiotteria, secondo il trovato, che viene individuato nella sua globalità con il riferimento 1, comprende una fascia perimetrale 5 che definisce almeno un'apertura per l'incastonatura di una pietra ed almeno una coppia di primi rebbi di giunzione 3 che sporgono dalla maglia 1 e sono rivolti verso l'esterno della maglia 1 stessa. I primi rebbi di giunzione 3 si sviluppano lungo una direzione longitudinale 9, la quale è sostanzialmente normale rispetto all'asse centrale 2 della maglia 1 (che nell'esempio qui raffigurato è anche l'asse di simmetria della fascia perimetrale 5). Inoltre, nella maglia è prevista almeno una coppia di feritoie di passaggio 4, che sono atte a consentire il passaggio di almeno una coppia di secondi rebbi di giunzione 103 sporgenti da una seconda maglia 101. Claims
