The invention relates to the field of textile dyes, in particular dyes containing reactive dyes, which are generally used to dye cellulosic fibers.

For some years, liquid dyes have appeared alongside traditional powder dyes.

A number of problems related to powder dyes, in particular the dispersion of these when opening their container and the risks of staining the surrounding objects, are reduced in a form considered satisfactory today by the use of dyes, under liquid form.

The work of the inventors has now made it possible to determine that there were splash risks for the liquid dye composition, more or less relevant according to the packaging system and the opening of the package by the user.

Furthermore, the increasing sophistication of laundry washing machines does not go in the direction of an ever simpler implementation of dyes. In fact, at the beginning of the washing cycle of relatively recently manufactured washing machines, there is rotation of the drum and emptying of the tank; the dye found in the drum water is then evacuated from the washing machine.

It is therefore desirable to have dyes available which, while having the advantages of liquid dyes, are free from the drawbacks of these.

Moreover, the presentation of the dyeing compositions in the gelled state is known in the state of the art.

Thus, US 5,356,439 describes a dyeing composition in the form of a gel for dyeing natural or synthetic fibers, comprising:

- from 0.001 to 5% by weight of dye;

0.01 to 8% by weight of a gelling agent selected from guar, xanthan or a composition based on cellulose;

from 0.01 to 4% by weight of viscosity modulator;

- from 0.01 to 2% by weight of preservative;

- from 0.99 to 67% by weight of deionized water; and - 0.01 to 25% by weight of a mercaptan reducing agent.

US 5 153 317 discloses a composition for controlling the rheology of an aqueous paint for dyeing natural or synthetic fibers comprising:

- from 1 to 30% by weight of xanthan gum, welam gum, rhamsan gum or their mixture (A);

- 70 to 99% by weight of water-soluble polysaccharide selected from alkynates, cellulosic polymers, starches, guar gums and their mixture (B) provided that if A is a xanthan and B is a guar, then the composition includes at least 25% A and at most 75% guar.

However, none of the solutions suggested in these documents allows to obtain dyes in the form of gels which exhibit rapid gelling at the time of the manufacturing process and a sufficiently good seal of the gel state to meet the needs of a dye applied in a machine. to wash the laundry.

Moreover, the work of the inventors made it possible to determine that it was possible to obtain at the same time a good gel setting of the dye, without resorting to sophisticated stirring or homogenization systems as well as a good preservation of the dye in the gel state, and optimal conditions of use. of the dye in the gel state, when this was packaged in a vessel shaped like a boat closed by means of an operculum, comprising a removable closure means.

The invention relates to a unit comprising a container and a dyeing composition in the form of a gel, the container comprising a small boat, an operculum which closes said small boat, and a means for removable closure of an opening provided in the operculum.

The packaging means in the form of a boat thus allows to obtain a gel setting of the dye by simply adding the thickening agent directly into the dyeing solution, without mechanical agitation of the medium. Furthermore, thanks to a removable closing means for the boat, the gelling dye composition can gradually diffuse into the water of the washing machine tank, avoiding dye losses when emptying the tank before washing.

The composition of the invention comprises a thickener or a gelling agent. Among the gelling agents or thickeners available, vegetable gums have the best results both in terms of gel strength, compatibility with coloring materials, and the absence of masses that are deposited on textile products at the time of the dyeing process.

Particularly good results were obtained when the thickener was a xanthan gum.

Advantageously, the dyeing composition according to the invention contains:

- a textile dye, in particular a reactive dye for cellulosic fibers;

- a xanthan gum; And

- water.

Xanthan gum brings the following advantages: this can be added at the end of the production process of the final dyeing composition as it is used by the user;

the addition of xanthan gum to the last phase of the manufacturing process, i.e. after mixing the different constituents of the dye starting from the basic dyes to obtain the desired color, in particular avoids the use of a pump for the injection of the dyeing composition and therefore the problems associated with rinsing the pump;

the use of xanthanic gum allows a gel composition of the dye composition without resorting to rigorous stirring, the simple manipulation of the packaging container for its closure by the manufacturer being sufficient to divide the xanthan gum within the composition and ensure the consequent gel setting;

the use of xanthan gum is particularly compatible with the acidity of reactive dye compositions whose pH is generally between 3 and 5, advantageously about 4, in particular, the formed gel remains stable over time;

the presence of xanthanic gum in the gel allows a good dissolution of the dyeing composition in the dyeing bath, in particular in the tub of an automatic washing machine without depositing masses or lumps on the surface of the laundry;

the loss of material due to the preliminary emptying of recently manufactured washing machines is practically nil compared to liquid dyeing.

The quantity of vegetable gum is advantageously at least 0.5 g / 100 g, preferably at least 0.7 g / 100 g of final composition and advantageously at most 2.5, preferably at most 2 g / 100 g of final composition, a particularly preferred amount being about 1 g / 100 g.

For a desired final viscosity, the amount of gum varies as a function of the nature of the coloring compound.

Thus, for dyes containing high concentrations of coloring compound (s), the amount of gum added will be placed in the upper limit of the indicated range, while for dyes containing lower concentrations of coloring compound (s), the quantity of added rubber will be placed in the lower limit of the indicated fork. This quantity is easily determined by the person skilled in the art by means of practical tests.

The pH of the gel dye formulation of the invention is generally 4 + 1.

Particularly interesting results, in particular a higher viscosity are obtained when the composition comprises a combination of xanthan gum and guar gum.

Advantageously, the weight ratio between xanthan gum and guar gum is higher than 1, preferably higher than 1.5.

Another object of the invention is consequently a gel dye composition comprising:

a textile dye, in particular a reactive dye for cellulosic fibers;

a gelling agent consisting of a mixture of xanthan gum and guar gum, and water,

characterized in that the ratio between xanthan gum and guar gum is at least 1/1, advantageously 1.5 / 1, preferably at least 4/1.

Particularly preferred ratios are of the order from 80/20 to 90/10, excessively high amounts of guar gum being at the origin of the formation of lumps of dye on the surface of the laundry.

Very interesting results are obtained when adding xanthan gum and possibly guar gum, cellulose or a cellulose derivative, in particular carboxymethyl-cellulose.

The viscosity (measured on a Brookfield apparatus with the cabinet 64 at a speed of 25 rpm) of the gel dye composition of the invention is generally at least 0.5 Pa.s, advantageously at least 1.5 Pa.s and at most 30 Pa.s, advantageously at most 20 Pa.s, viscosity which substantially decreases as a function of the applied shear index, in particular at the time of agitation of the container for packaging the dyeing composition. .

The liquid dyeing compositions used for the invention are any type of aqueous dye which are obtained by mixing dyes available from suppliers of dyes.

In particular, the dyes obtained by mixing two or more dyes, of the vinyl sulfone type, for example bright blue REMAZOL® R LIQUIDO 50% in variable proportions, can be mentioned.

It is also desirable for a good preservation of the gel tincture of the invention to add a preservative in the aforementioned composition; an example of a preservative that may be suitable is octylisothiazolinone marketed under the name MERGAL K9N.

Advantageously, xanthan gum or the combination of xanthan gum and guar gum in powder form is added directly into the packaging vessel of the dye composition.

It is not necessary to have resorted to a high mechanical agitation to ensure the dissolution of the rubber, the only manipulation of the packaging means for its closure being sufficient, to ensure a homogeneous distribution of the rubber within the dye formulation.

After closing the packaging medium containing the formulation of the invention, it is left to rest so that the gel setting takes place up to the desired final viscosity.

The optimal duration to make a gel with a satisfactory viscosity is about one week.

In a particularly advantageous embodiment, the dyeing composition of the invention is packaged in a boat of synthetic material, equipped with an operculum, the said operculum having an orifice closed by a removable closure means which is extracted at the time of use. of the said composition for the final use.

The packaging boat can be rectangular, square, round or oval.

The dimensions of the boat are provided so that the surface of liquid composition is relatively important to ensure a good absorption of the xanthan gum after its addition to the dye composition.

Advantageously, the dimensions of the boat are such that the surface / depth ratio of the boat is greater than 100, preferably greater than 150.

Thus, for a final volume of dye composition from 40 to 57 ml, the dimensions of the boat are advantageously 106 mm x 57 mm x 19 mm.

For a final volume of dye composition from 75 to 95 ml, the dimensions of the boat are advantageously 106 mm x 57 mm x 32 mm.

A particular embodiment of the package according to the invention will be described below, with reference to the attached figures on which:

The unit 1 shown in Figure 1 comprises a boat 2 closed by means of an operculum 3 heat-sealed on a peripheral upper edge 4 of the boat 2.

The rigid boat 2 is advantageously made of a synthetic plastic material, for example PVC, the flexible cap 3 is preferably constructed of synthetic plastic material, for example PVC / PE.

A circular line of lower resistance 5 is formed in the operculum 3 at a distance from its peripheral edge.

A removable closure means 6 in the form of a self-adhesive adhesive panel is placed on the operculum 3.

The adhesive panel 6 has a rectangular shape provided at one of its corners with a hooking tab 7.

The adhesive panel 6 covers the circular region 8 of the operculum 3 delimited by the line 5.

Vessel 1 contains a gel dye composition as defined above.

In order to free the composition of the container, the tab 7 is grasped to detach the panel 6 as illustrated in figure 2. The detachment causes the breaking of the operculum 3 along the line 5 and the detachment from its region 8 which remains glued to the panel 6 A circular opening is then created in operculum 3.

The invention also relates to a process for dyeing a textile in a laundry washing machine, by means of a dye containing reactive dye, in particular for dyeing cellulosic fibers, characterized in that the textile product to be dyed is introduced into the tub of a laundry washing machine, and that an assembly as defined above is added after the opening of the removable closure means provided in the closure operculum.

The example below which describes an example of embodiment of a composition in the form of a gel adapted to be packaged in the boat described in the attached figure and to illustrate this without limiting it to the embodiment described.

EXAMPLE:

Preparation of gel based on yellow dye.

a) Preparation of the buffer solution (1 Kg) Products used: acetic acid 33, 6 grams Monosodium phosphate 67 grams Water 899, 4 grams Preparation: the products are mixed in the order stated then stirred at room temperature.

b) Preparation of the preservative solution (1 Kg) Products used: MERGAL K9N 100 grams Water 900 grams Preparation: mix the products in the order listed then stir at room temperature.

c) Preparation of the yellow dye solution (160 grams) Products used: YELLOW REMEMAZOL R LIQUID 50 8, 6 grams Buffer solution 3, 0 grams Preservative solution 1, 2 grams Water 67, 2 grams Preparation: mix all the products then it is stirred at room temperature. 50 ml of dye are then poured into a small boat of 106 mm x 57 miti x 19 mm, as described in Figure 1.

d) Preparation of the yellow dye gel (160 grams) Preparation: add 2, 8 g of a mixture of xanthan gum and guar gum (90/10) in each of the boats of the previous solution at room temperature, the boats are then closed by means of an operculum as described for figure 1.

The viscosity of the product after about 1 week is about 10 Pa.s (viscosity measurement obtained on a Brookfiel apparatus with the cabinet 64 at a speed of 25 revolutions per minute).
