Lo scopo viene raggiunto impiegando sorgenti luminose a stato solido che abbiano un elevato rapporto lumen/watt ed alimentatori elettronici dedicati ad altissima efficienza di conversione. Le alette ricavate dall'asolatura vengono calcolate in funzione del tipo di LED impiegato e della relativa potenza di esercizio. Questo accorgimento permette una migliore distribuzione degli elementi illuminanti sulla piastra nonché una corretta gestione termica degli stessi procurando per via diretta un aumento considerevole della loro durata.
