In tempi recenti, nell'aimbito della realizzazione e gestione di strutture immobiliari importanti che assolvono a funzioni di servizio comune e sociale quali ad esempio ospedali, alberghi, fiere, infrastrutture urbanistiche varie, caratterizzate perlopiù da alta frequentazione di pubblico da gestire con criteri di assoluta efficienza e sicurezza, si à ̈ andata sempre più diffondendo l'installazione di sistemi di telecontrollo, con il sostanziale obbiettivo di monitorare, capillarmente e da postazioni di supervisione anche decentrate e remote, la funzionalità di tutti gli apparati tecnologici che corredano le suddette strutture immobiliari. D'altra parte, à ̈ difficile ipotizzare per tali impianti la sostituzione completa di ascensori ed accessori, particolarmente se gli stessi, seppur datati, icontinuano a fornire prestazioni sicure ed affidabili.
