3. THE SYSTEM

3.1 GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The tens of thousands of bins, usually grouped in battery, constitute, for cos? say, fixed installations; together with factories and landfills, they are the primary source of information.

Of course, is it - in the first place - a question of protecting the investments made up to now, at the same time? adapting them? to the needs information that allow the creation of databases, even detailed, able to create a more? economic activity? operational, and a dynamic management of the relationship with customers and, last but not least, the platform for making a centralized tool available to the bodies able to indicate the differences between the plans programmed in the company and those that, in reality, are implemented.

The system, therefore, provides for the positioning of all the instrumentation in a special protected site (TOTEM) capable of sending simple impulses to the bins, collecting data and transferring them to other equipment installed on company vehicles (compactors, surveillance and rescue).

In the factories, when these vehicles return, data is collected and processed for management needs, while in the management center only simple messages are received for the operational management of the fleet.

Finally, at the General Management, a database is set up for the management of daily summary data (slow real time) which, compared with homogeneous data, constitute the company feedback - together with financial, customer and emergency data - allowing a systematic view of the operating performance.

3.2 THE PITCH
