Descrizione dell' Invenzione Industriale dal titolo:
"DISPOSITIVO PER MARMITTE DI SCARICO DI MOTORI ENDO-TERMICI , A CAMPO ELETTROSTATICO"
TESTO DELLA DESCRIZIONE
L' invenzione concerne un dispositivo applicato o inserito in marmitte di scarico per motori endotermici, atto all' abbattimento dei gas di polluzione mediante campi elettrostatici di alta tensione.
E' noto il grave problema dell' inquinamento atmosferico dovuto ai gas di scarico dei motori a combustione endotermica che non viene attualmente risolto nè dalle tradizionali marmitte, ad assorbimento insufficiente, nè peraltro dalle recenti marmitte catalitiche che esigono, per verificare buoni livelli di funzionamento, di elevate temperature, raggiungibili dai motori solo dopo un lungo e continuo tempo di accensione.
L' invenzione nasce dalla scoperta della efficacia di deviazione di un campo elettrostatico di alta tensione, sia per azione diretta sugli ioni presenti nella polluzione sia per effetto di induzione sulle particelle neutre presenti negli scarichi.
Il dispositivo, secondo l' invenzione, determina un rilevante e, in taluni casi, totale abbattimento dell' ossido di azoto, dell' ossido di carbonio e delle particelle dei gas incombusti dello scarico che, prima dell'uscita dalla marmitta, vengono fatti passare tra due elettrodi mantenuti ad alta differenza di potenziale elettrostatica, mediante un generatore di Van De Graaf o simile, in modo tale da deviare gli ioni presenti e/o indotti, su appositi raccoglitori, sostituibili o rigenerabili dopo determinati tempi di funzionamento.
Una schematizzazione puramente esemplificativa e non limitativa dell' invenzione è presentata nell' acclusa figura 1 dove è indicato un dispositivo, inserito o applicato nella marmitta di scarico T di un motore endotermico di tipo automobilistico o diverso, comprendente:
- un contenitore 1 , applicato sul terminale della marmitta T o in essa inserito;
- due elettrodi 2 mantenuti alla differenza di potenziale di molte migliaia di Volt da un generatore elettrostatico 3, che determinano la presenza di un intenso campo elettrostatico attraverso il quale passano i gas di scarico, per avviarsi all' uscita 7, in modo tale che gli ioni negativi 5 vengono deviati verso il polo positivo e sii ioni positivi 6 verso il negativo « fino a pervenire sui raccoglitori 4, disposti sulle pareti interne di detto contenitore 1 , dove perdono la propria energia cinetica per urto contro strati di lana di roccia, lana di vetro o altri materiali adatti, e vengono quindi sottratti alla diffusione nell' aria dallo scarico 7;
- un generatore elettrostatico 3 di alta tensione, del tipo di Van De Graaf, con generatore a strofinio G o simile, trasportato dalla vettura, la cui sfera e il cui elettrodo di segno opposto sono collegati a detti elettrodi 2, in modo tale da portarli a differenze di potenziale di molte migliaia di Volt.
Naturalmente fermo restando il principio del trovato, le forme di realizzazione e i particolari di costruzione potranno essere ampiamente variati rispetto a quanto descritto e illustrato, senza per questo uscire dall' ambito della presente invenzione.

Claims (2)

  1. RIVENDICAZIONI 1 ) Dispositivo per marmitte di scarico di motori endotermici, a campo elettrostatico, caratterizzato da : - un contenitore 1 , applicato sul terminale della marmitta T o in essa inserito; - due elettrodi 2 mantenuti alla differenza di potenziale di molte migliaia di Volt da un generatore elettrostatico 3, che determinano la presenza di un intenso campo elettrostatico attraverso il quale passano i gas di scarico, per avviarsi all' uscita 7, in modo tale che gli ioni negativi 5 vengono deviati verso il polo positivo e gli ioni positivi 6 verso il negativo, fino a pervenire su raccoglitori 4 disposti sulle pareti di detto contenitore 1 , dove perdono la propria energia cinetica per urto contro strati di lana di roccia, lana di vetro o altri materiali adatti, e vengono quindi sottratti alla diffusione nell' aria dallo scarico 7; - un generatore elettrostatico 3 di alta tensione, del tipo di Van De Graaf, con generatore a strofinio G o simile, trasportato dalla vettura, la cui sfera e il cui elettrodo di Begno opposto sono collegati a detti elettrodi 2, in modo tale da portarli a differenze di potenziale di molte migliaia di Volt.
  2. 2) Dispositivo secondo la riv. 1 caratterizzato dal fatto di essere inserito all' interno della marmitta T. Il tutto sostanzialmente come descritto illustrato e per gli scopi specificati.
