Description
DESCRIZIONE: DESCRIPTION:
The present invention refers to a device for photographic acquisition of the entire human body. In particular, the device allows high-definition digital recordings of images of the body according to fixed shooting sequences. The acquired images are stored on a computer support. The technical solution used allows to acquire images of the whole body of the subjects subjected to the procedure in a rather short time and with simple technical means.
The photographic technique of the human body can be used in various sectors, such as the medical, manufacturing and aesthetic sectors. Applications of photographic techniques in the surgical field are known, where photographic recordings are used for the objective evaluation of the results of reconstructive or aesthetic plastic operations. In the dermatological field, photographic recordings are used to determine the aging of the skin by solar radiation, or to identify the presence and extent of skin lesions. In the manufacturing field, photographic recordings can be used in the fashion industry to determine the cuts of fabrics according to the distribution of volumes in the subjects. In the aesthetic field, photographic techniques are used for the objective assessment of imperfections and the measurement of body volumes, also in conjunction with structured lighting systems such as laser lines or dot matrices, useful for the three-dimensional determination of body volumes.
In some of the areas mentioned, photographic shots are generally carried out manually or semi-automatically, but almost always with poor repeatability and objectification of the shooting modes (shooting distance, resolution, focus, depth of field). In addition, manual or semi-automatic photographic shooting in these areas requires rather high execution times. In other areas, especially where photographic recording is used for the three-dimensional evaluation of volumes in conjunction with the use of structured light illuminators, the devices used generally have a high degree of complexity and a high manufacturing cost, being based on the use of industrial cameras, often equipped with multiple control motors. This element generally represents a limit to the diffusion of these systems in sectors of use that would not be able to sustain a high cost of the device.
The invention in question aims to overcome the limits determined by the subjectivity of the manual or semi-automatic shooting criteria, describing a device that allows low-cost digital shooting of the entire body at high resolution and in a highly repeatable way, being rigidly define the lighting conditions, magnification, focus and depth of field of the shots. The technical problem faced in the present invention is therefore that of imaging with high resolution of a large surface of complex morphology. The solution identified is characterized by the particularity of usefully using conventional technical means available at low cost, allowing to extend the use of automated photographic shooting technology even in sectors of use that are currently unable to bear the cost of greater complexity.
The present invention will be described below according to a possible embodiment, provided by way of non-limiting example, with reference to the attached drawings in which:
* figure 1 shows a general schematic view of the device seen in section; * figure 2 shows an overall view of the device.
1. With reference to the figures, the device is composed of one or more high resolution digital recording means 1, which observe the surface 2 of the subject's body through a group of mirrors 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 , 10 and 11. The shooting means are spatially positioned in a fixed manner in the plane of fig. 1. If the resolution required by the application of the system is low, these shooting means can be constituted by a single camera, otherwise by a group of cameras arranged on an axis perpendicular to the plane of fig. 1.
The optical paths 13 and the set of mirrors 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 are suitably arranged in such a way that they make it possible to frame the subject from multiple directions of observation. In this way, the number of positions that the subject must assume to show the entire body surface to the system is conveniently reduced, compared to the use of a conventional photography method in which the view is only frontal and the subject must assume more positions to show the entire surface of the body. Furthermore, with this technique, more directions of observation are implemented while using a very low number of cameras, thus reducing the cost of the device.
If the field framed by the means of recording is sufficiently wide, they can directly acquire the images of the different optical paths in a single take; otherwise, the camera means can be rotated a predefined number of degrees clockwise or counterclockwise by a positioning system 12 so as to direct the field of view in the direction corresponding to each observation direction 13.
Suitable lighting means 14 allow to illuminate the subject during photographic shooting. The digital images are acquired by a processor 15 and stored on a suitable database.
The main optical parts of the device are closed inside a case 16, useful to prevent the parts from being contaminated by dust or other external agents. The glass windows 17 and 18 allow the view towards the subject.
The device can be usefully designed in such a way that the different optical paths 13 join the recording means 1 and the surface 2 of the subject's body while always maintaining the same viewing distance. In this way it is conveniently possible to make use of shooting means 1 characterized by the particularity of operating at a fixed focus, with simplification in the structure and reduction of the costs of the device.
The set of mirrors 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 is suitably arranged in such a way that these guarantee both the implementation of the different optical paths 13 towards the recording means 1, and the passage without obstacles of the light of the illuminators 14 towards the surface 2 of the subject; in particular, said passage can take place both in direct mode and by reflection through the mirrors themselves.
The mirrors 3, 4, 5 and 6, protected by the housing 16, may conveniently be of the type commonly referred to as having a first surface, that is, with metallization applied on the side of incidence and reflection. In this way it is possible to reduce the secondary reflections that could be generated instead with mirrors of the common type, that is with metallization placed under the glass support.
The optics of the shooting means 1 must ensure that the images can be acquired with a depth of field sufficient to frame both the closest and most distant parts of the subject in a fixed focus condition. For this reason the shooting means 1 will be configured with a rather narrow optical diaphragm, in order to maximize the depth of field.
Consequently, the lighting means 14 must ensure a sufficient light intensity to allow the correct exposure of the images acquired even in conditions of very closed shooting diaphragm. These lighting means can exploit different technologies (fluorescent lamps, discharge lamps, flashes, incandescent lamps, LEDs). The device can be designed for an arrangement with both vertical and horizontal subject.
A person skilled in the art, in order to comply with further and particular needs, may make additional variants and modifications to the device described for the illumination and photographic recording of the human body, all however included in the scope of the protection of the present invention, as defined by claims.
