DESCRIZIONE DESCRIPTION
Annessa a domanda di brevetto per INVENZIONE INDUSTRIALE avente per titolo Attached to a patent application for INDUSTRIAL INVENTION having the title
“APPARATO E METODO PER IL TRASPORTO DI CONTENITORI†⠀ œ APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR THE TRANSPORT OF CONTAINERSâ €
The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for transporting containers. In particular, this apparatus is used in the bottling sector to connect successive processing stations of the rotary carousel type (for example a blow molding machine, a rinsing machine, a filler). The proposed apparatus can be used both for the transport of containers made of plastic material (typically PET), and for the transport of glass containers.
As is known, there are already devices on the market capable of operating in two operating modes: a first mode is for the transfer of PET containers and a second mode is set for transferring glass containers. These apparatuses consist of a first sliding line for PET containers and a second sliding line for glass containers. The two lines develop at different heights and belong to the same processing station.
As regards PET containers, it should be remembered that they are generally obtained starting from PET preforms, consisting of a tubular central body and an inlet provided with a protruding collar. As is well known, the central body is blown while the entrance does not undergo processing. In this context, the term PET container means both the starting preform and the formed container.
PET containers are transported in a suspended condition by sliding their collars along a guide. In fact, empty PET containers would be very unstable if they placed directly with the bottom (flat or petaloid) on belt conveyors. Therefore, so-called â € œairlineâ € conveyors are used, equipped with a channel into which air is blown through fans, so that the containers advance along the guide. Currently, configurations of channels are known in which the air is blown laterally to the central body of the containers or laterally to the collar of the containers themselves or above the containers themselves.
The main disadvantage of known transfer apparatuses lies in the fact that, near the next transfer star (for example a filling station), the PET containers pass through a so-called `` dead plate '' section in which they advance along the guide only thanks to to the thrust of the containers that follow them. This situation is disadvantageous first of all because, if the section of â € œdead plateâ € is very long (for example between 50 and 60 cm), the containers can even stop, causing a drop in productivity. Furthermore, the advancement of the containers in the `` dead plate '' section occurs in an uncontrolled way, as it depends solely on the residual thrust of the containers that follow them, with the risk of damaging the bodies of the containers or causing jams in the line. Obviously, these events are undesirable and involve a reduction in productivity, with a consequent increase in time and costs.
As for the glass containers, the transport takes place by means of so-called `` carpet '' sliding belts on which the bottoms of the containers are placed directly. In fact, the greater weight of glass containers (compared to PET ones), even if empty, makes them stable when placed on the bottom.
The glass containers are made to advance on a belt and, subsequently, transferred to a spacer auger which has the function of progressively spacing the containers themselves at the pitch of the next transfer star. In case of format change of the glass containers, it is necessary to intervene at the level of the transfer star and the screw to change the pitch.
The main drawback of the known art is linked precisely to the position of the screw which, in known solutions, is located below the transport line of the PET containers (or rather the guide in the â € œdead plateâ €). In this case, the auger is difficult to access for maintenance, cleaning and format change operations.
In this context, the technical task underlying the present invention is to propose an apparatus and a method for transporting containers, which overcomes the drawbacks of the aforementioned prior art.
In particular, the aim of the present invention is to propose an apparatus and a method for transporting containers, capable of solving or reducing the problem of the "dead plate" in proximity to the transfer star.
Furthermore, it is an object of the present invention to make available an apparatus and a method for transporting containers, capable of improving production efficiency, reducing time and costs.
Furthermore, it is an object of the present invention to propose an apparatus and a method for transporting containers, which is constructively simple and compact.
Furthermore, it is an object of the present invention to present an apparatus for the transport of containers, in which the change of the operating mode (from the transport of PET containers to the transport of glass containers and vice versa) takes place in a practical way and in a short time.
Furthermore, it is an object of the present invention to propose an apparatus for transporting containers, in which operators can easily access the various areas during maintenance.
The specified technical task and the specified purposes are substantially achieved by an apparatus and a method for transporting containers, comprising the technical characteristics set out in one or more of the appended claims.
Ulteriori caratteristiche e vantaggi della presente invenzione appariranno maggiormente chiari dalla descrizione indicativa, e pertanto non limitativa, di una forma di realizzazione preferita ma non esclusiva di un apparato e di un metodo per il trasporto di contenitori, come illustrato negli uniti disegni in cui: Further characteristics and advantages of the present invention will become clearer from the indicative, and therefore non-limiting, description of a preferred but not exclusive embodiment of an apparatus and method for transporting containers, as illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which:
la figura 1 illustra un apparato per il trasporto di contenitori, secondo la presente invenzione, in vista laterale; Figure 1 illustrates an apparatus for transporting containers, according to the present invention, in a side view;
la figura 2 illustra l’apparato di figura 1, in vista frontale; Figure 2 illustrates the apparatus of Figure 1, in front view;
Figure 3 illustrates the apparatus of Figure 1, in a first operating mode, seen from above.
With reference to the figures, 1 indicates an apparatus for transporting containers 2 towards a transfer star 3. The apparatus 1 comprises a support frame 5, formed by crosspieces and uprights, and has two distinct transport sections 4 arranged at different heights with respect to the ground. In particular, a first section 4a, positioned at a greater height, is entrusted with the transport of empty containers 2a (or preforms) made of PET or other plastic material. A second section 4b, positioned below the first section 4a, instead carries out the transport of glass containers 2b. Apparatus 1 has two operating modes: in a first mode the first transport section 4a is active, in a second mode the second transport section 4b is active. The structure of the two sections 4 is described below.
In the first section 4a, the transport of PET containers 2a takes place by keeping them suspended by their collar 6. In particular, the collars 6 can slide along a guide 7. The apparatus 1 comprises a first air channel 8 which extends along the guide 7. The PET containers 2a are made to advance in the first channel 8 by sliding the collars 6 along the guide 7.
Originally, the apparatus 1 comprises a second air channel 9 which, in the first operating mode of the apparatus 1, is the continuation of the first channel 8 so that the guide 7 continues at the same time as the development of the second channel 9 In the first operating mode, the second channel 9 is in tangential approach to the star 3 so that the PET containers 2a travel along the guide 7 until they enter the star 3 itself.
Preferably, the first channel 8 is formed by a first portion 8a and by a second portion 8b which extend on opposite sides with respect to the guide 7 and parallel to it. In this case, the guide 7 extends centrally along the first channel 8.
In the embodiment described and illustrated here, the first channel 8 is located laterally to the collars 6 of the PET containers 2a. In particular, the portions 8a and 8b of the first channel 8 are located on opposite sides with respect to the collars 6.
In an alternative embodiment (not shown), the first channel 8 is located laterally to the PET containers 2a. In particular, the portions 8a and 8b of the first channel 8 are located on opposite sides with respect to the body of the PET containers 2a.
The apparatus 1 is equipped with fans of the known type (not shown), arranged above the first channel 8. The air moved by the fans is conveyed towards a plurality of 10 blowing nozzles obtained in the first channel 8 and in the second channel 9. The nozzles 10 introduce air into the two channels 8 and 9 at a pressure preferably between 100 mm and 200 mm of water column. Preferably, the nozzles 10 emit air in a predetermined direction given by the shape of the nozzles 10 themselves.
In the illustrated embodiment, the second channel 9 extends in such a way as to occupy a smaller space than the first channel 8, leaving free, along the guide 7, an area closer to the star 3. For example, the second channel 9 is be the continuation of the first portion 8a of the first channel 8. In this case, the area left free is that given by the imaginary extension of the second portion 8b of the first channel 8.
The apparatus 1 is provided with means 11 for joining the first channel 8 and the second channel 9. In the first operating mode, the joining means 11 keep the channels 8 and 9 adjacent and consecutive. Said joining means 11 are shaped in such a way as to allow rotation of the second channel 9 with respect to the first channel 8 in the second operating mode. Preferably, the joining means 11 comprise one or more attachment elements 12 and a hinge 13. In particular, the attachment elements 12 are located laterally to the channels 8 and 9 at their interface zone. In the first operating mode, the coupling elements 12 of the first channel 8 engage the corresponding coupling elements 12 of the second channel 9. The hinge 13, arranged in the upper part of the channels 8 and 9, allows the rotation of the second channel 9 with respect to the first channel 8.
At a free end 9a of the second channel 9 there is a first hook 16 which, in the second operating mode, engages in a corresponding locking element 17 associated with the frame 5. Laterally, under the second channel 9, there is a piston (not shown) fixed to frame 5 to interrupt the flow of PET containers 2a towards star 3.
In the second section 4b, the glass containers 2b are transported along a transport path defined by a sliding belt 14. The glass containers 2b rest on the belt 14 with their bottom 15. This belt 14 develops at a lower level than the channels 8 and 9 so that, in the second operating mode, the glass containers 2b do not interfere with the guide 7.
The second section 4b is equipped with a spacer screw 18 of a known type which, in the second operating mode, is adapted to receive the glass containers 2b from the belt 14 and to transfer them to the star 3. In the first operating mode, the second channel 9 is located above the auger 18. In the second operating mode, the second channel 9 is arranged above the first channel 8, interrupting the development of the guide 7 and avoiding interfering with the sliding of the glass containers 2b below.
The method for transporting containers, according to the present invention, is described below.
As already mentioned above, in the first operating mode of apparatus 1 the first transport section 4a is active, while the second transport section 4b is disabled.
In the first operating mode of the apparatus 1, the second channel 9 is adjacent and consecutive to the first channel 8 and in tangential approach to the star 3. In particular, the coupling elements 12 of the two channels 8 and 9 are mutually engaged.
The PET containers 2a are transported suspended by the collars 6 along the guide 7, which follows the development of both channels 8 and 9. The fans move the air which, through the nozzles 10, is introduced into the two channels 8 and 9. In the embodiment described and illustrated here, the air is introduced laterally to the collars 6 in such a way as to push the containers 2a along the guide 7 until it enters the star 3.
In the second operating mode of apparatus 1, the second transport section 4b is active, while the first transport section 4a is disabled.
The hooking elements 12 of the two channels 8 and 9 are disengaged and the second channel 9 is free to rotate around a pin of the hinge 13, moving over the first channel 8. The first hook 16 engages in the element 17 of locking, thus securing the second channel 9 to the frame 5 and interrupting the development of the guide 7.
The glass containers 2b rest with their bottom 15 on the sliding belt 14 and are transported to the spacer screw 18. Said screw 18 progressively distances the glass containers 2b at the pitch of the star 3. The glass containers 2b are finally transferred from the screw 18 to the star 3, ready to be processed.
From the above description the characteristics of the apparatus and of the method for transporting containers according to the present invention are clear, as well as the advantages.
In particular, thanks to the fact that, in the first operating mode, the second channel is in tangential approach to the star and is arranged in such a way as to be an extension of the first channel, the containers can advance up to the star entrance. under the action of air. In this way, the problem of the "dead plate" in the vicinity of the transfer star is solved.
Furthermore, also in the second channel the containers are made to advance in a controlled manner (ie with air), avoiding damage to the body of the containers themselves or jams along the guide. In this way, production efficiency is improved, reducing time and costs compared to prior art solutions.
Furthermore, since the first transport section consists of two consecutive channels defining a guide, the apparatus is constructively simple and compact.
Tale soluzione à ̈ molto pratica e richiede tempi brevi. Furthermore, to switch from the first to the second operating mode, it is sufficient to rotate the second channel with respect to the first. The second channel, arranged above the first channel, is then secured to the frame. This solution is very practical and takes a short time.
Furthermore, the rotation of the second channel with respect to the first allows operators to easily access the second section (for example the auger) during maintenance, cleaning or format change.
