State of the art

There are various types of telephone wall sockets on the market. A first type of socket, even if completely embedded in the wall, is used with ad hoc plugs which have a considerable protrusion from the wall with consequent bulk.

Another type of socket, also completely recessed into the wall, usually has one or two RJ-type jack outputs; the latter, despite having a rather small size, present other problems, above all of a practical nature.

Both types of telephone socket described above do not have any IP protection and therefore allow the intrusion of water and / or dust.

Both sockets then present another problem, namely the extreme ease of removing the plug by anyone and at any time, with possible serious damage due to data loss, etc.

This telephone socket (10) allows you to solve some of the problems that characterize the telephone sockets available on the market.

The telephone socket (10) according to the invention, for example, has a degree of protection against dust and water of the IP55 type, with obvious advantages for use in humid environments, being equipped with a special gasket (20) placed between the cover (12) and the body (11) of the socket itself.

Another advantage is represented by the possibility of having a watertight cover (12) which on the one hand protects the RJ plugs (15) from dust, water and more, on the other it prevents unauthorized persons from detaching the plugs (15) during a data transmission.

In addition, the cover (12) can be equipped with special head screws (13) for better protection of the pins (15).

The presence of a partial locking system (17) of the cables (14) together with the fact that the RJ socket (16) is inclined with respect to the body (11) of the socket by 45 °, ensures that the cables (14) do not suffer a clean crease. Furthermore, this invention prevents, if the cable (14) is inadvertently pulled, that the force v discharged on the pin (15) and on the relative contacts, an evident malfunction of the whole socket.

The telephone socket according to invention also has a minimum size compared to the wall, from which it protrudes by about 10mm - with the cables (14) in parallel output with respect to the wall, a feature that brings an obvious advantage

Low profile telephone socket, according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that it has a special gasket between the socket cover and its body, such as to give the socket an IP55 degree of protection. 4. Low profile telephone socket, according to claims 1, 2 and 3 characterized in that it has a partial cable locking system which allows the cable itself to exit parallel to the wall.
