Attualmente nel mercato esistono degli apparecchi per dare ai capelli pieghe diverse, come rarriccia capelli che forma per mezzo del calore e/o del vapore i ricci su capelli lisci, oppure delle piastre che lisciano i capelli ricci. Detti apparecchi non assicurano però l'integrità del capello perché utilizzando il calore possono creare delle bruciature sul capello stesso.
