DESCRIPTION

There are many situations in which people, distant from each other, signal each other with flags. This type of report is effective if the person to whom the report is directed can see the flag directly or does not have to act promptly as a result of the report; this visual signaling with flags is also used when the people who have to signal themselves are distant from each other or cannot signal by voice both for the distance and for the noisy environment.

For example, in athletics the judges have the opportunity to notice the signals, that is the flag held up, even in the moments following the signaling.

An opposite example can be found in the game of football in which respect for the rules and the impartiality of the score is ensured by a referee and two people, line guards, who assist the referee himself in his work by raising flags.

Most of the referee's attention is turned towards the twenty-two players scattered around the large playing area with the consequence that he does not always notice promptly the signals of the linesman and in any case he has to take his eyes and attention away from the course of the game.

In order to solve all the aforesaid drawbacks, a new flag has been studied equipped with a remote signaling device operating in conjunction with a receiver generating sounds, vibrations or other. The flag is equipped with a radio transmitter preferably housed in the handle and operated by means of a button pressed by the signaling person at the same time as the flag is raised.

If necessary, the operation of the radio transmitter can be automatic or be equipped with a gravity system which replaces the button and which activates said radio transmitter when the flag is raised.

The receiver is held by the person to whom the report is directed. This marker receives the signal transmitted by the radio transmitter housed in the flag and in turn emits a warning signal.

This receiver can have any shape such as for example a parallelepiped to be attached to the belt, to be hung on the neck, to be applied to the wrist with a strap, have the shape of a front plate, be included in the whistle; the emitted signal can be of any nature suitable for the purpose, such as for example sound, vibrating, or luminous, so as to be unequivocally detected. The communication radio signal between the transmitter and the receiver can be included in any frequency suitable for signaling, possibly reserved for the specific purpose or coded, so as to be able to unequivocally signal the raised flag.

With this flag equipped with a radio signaler and the relative receiver, the person receiving the signal is not forced to observe the flag of the signalman continuously or repeatedly but can concentrate more his attention on his main activity or on something else.

The present invention therefore allows for example

the referee to know that the linesman raised the flag and for as long as he held it in that position even though he was busy following the game.

Both the transmitter and the receiver can operate on batteries or be rechargeable or both in order to ensure uninterrupted functionality and can be hermetically sealed so as not to fear meteorological agents such as rain or other.

By way of non-limiting example, a practical embodiment of the invention is illustrated.

The attached table shows a flag with the radio signal (R) incorporated in the handle (M) equipped with battery (B) and activation button (P) protruding from the handle (M); the transmission antenna (A) is easily housed in the rod (0) of the flag (F).

The receiver can be in the shape of a small box (V) to hang around the neck or to keep in a pocket, it can be included in a whistle (L), it can be included in a watch (X) to keep on the wrist.

These are the schematic modalities sufficient for the skilled person to realize the invention consequently, in concrete application there may be variations without prejudice to the innovative concept. Therefore, with reference to the preceding description and to the attached table, the following claims are expressed.

Claims (4)

CLAIMS 1) Flag for signaling characterized by the fact that it is equipped with a radio transmitter connected to it and a receiver supplied to a second person, and where by activating the radio transmitter it emits a radio signal captured by the receiver which in turn emits an acoustic signal, or a vibrating signal, or a light signal or other. 2) Flag as per claim 1, characterized in that it has a button on the handle for operating the radio transmitter. 3) Flag according to claim 1, characterized in that it has a gravity mechanism which activates the radio transmitter when said flag is raised. 4) Flag for signaling as per all the preceding claims, characterized by the fact that its production and its marketing are understood to be protected by the present patent for industrial invention, all as described and illustrated.
