DESCRIPTION

The present patent relates to kitchen furniture, and in particular it concerns floor furniture.

Currently kitchen furniture can be basically divided into two categories: resting on the floor and wall units.

Hanging cabinets, such as kitchen cabinets, can be fixed to the wall at a variable height. These wall units are fixed to the wall by means of hooks fixed, at the rear, to the back of the unit and resting on a special bar fixed to the wall. The adjustment of the vertical position of the wall units, in order to align them with the adjacent wall units, can be modified by means of adjusting screws, accessible from the inside of the unit, of said rear hooks fixed to the back of the unit itself.

The weight of the wall units and their contents is unloaded on the wall through the various fixing systems to the wall itself. As a result, the weight of the wall units and their contents is limited.

The floor units have legs resting on the floor at the bottom. In the case of heated or cooled underfloor rooms, the skirting board prevents the free circulation of hot or cold air under the furniture, consequently limiting the efficiency of such floor heating or cooling and generating unnecessary and harmful volumes of hot air or cold air below the furniture ..

The space below the floor furniture enclosed by the skirting boards collects and accumulates dust and dirt that must be periodically removed. This operation involves removing the skirting board, cleaning the space below the furniture and repositioning the skirting board itself.

Floor-standing furniture legs are not aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

In some cases the furniture is placed next to prefabricated partition walls, such as plasterboard, to which minimum weights can be applied. In these cases it is not possible to apply any furniture, wall or floor, to said walls but it is mandatory to use the support legs.

The subject of this patent is a new piece of furniture to be positioned on the floor.

One of the purposes of the new furniture is not to require a lower perimeter skirting board.

Another purpose of the new piece of furniture is to give a visual sensation of lightness of the masses.

Another purpose of the new piece of furniture is to give the sensation of its suspension in mid-air or of its application to the wall even in the presence of simple dividing walls.

Another purpose of the new piece of furniture is to allow the positioning of the new piece of furniture at a desired height, in particular with the upper support surface at a greater height from the floor than known furniture.

Another purpose of the new piece of furniture is to have a support on the floor and at the same time allow free circulation of air on the floor below the piece of furniture, especially for floors with heating and / or cooling systems.

These and other direct and complementary objects are achieved by the new piece of furniture comprising at least one upper support surface, having at least one lower support plane element made of transparent rigid material.

The new piece of furniture can preferably comprise a parallelepiped box-like body equipped at the bottom with one or more flat support elements made of transparent rigid material and on which said upper support surface is placed or fixed.

The box-shaped body can be open to the day, or it can be equipped with sliding drawers, or it can be equipped with sliding or rotating doors.

Below the box-like body there are one or more flat support elements made of transparent rigid material.

These support elements have a substantially flat rectangular shape of adequate thickness, are arranged vertically so that their major surfaces are vertical, so that their two opposite edges are vertical and their other two opposite edges adhere to the lower surface of the box-like body and to the floor.

Said supporting elements are made of any suitable rigid, resistant and transparent material such as for example plastic, glass.

The lower supporting elements can be arranged parallel to each other, orthogonal to each other, inclined to each other. Furthermore, said supporting elements can be all or some parallel to a vertical wall of the box-like body, all or some of them can be inclined to a vertical wall of the box-like body.

The material, dimensions, number and arrangement of said lower supporting elements are such as to allow adequate support for the weight of the furniture, its contents and the objects placed on the furniture itself.

In addition to this, the dimensions, number and arrangement of said lower supporting elements are such as to allow easy cleaning below the box-like body of the new piece of furniture.

Said box-like body is provided to have, on its lower panel, suitable seats for inserting and housing the upper edge of said lower supporting elements.

Identically, for the new piece of furniture composed only of the upper supporting surface and the supporting elements, said upper supporting surface is provided, on its lower surface, with suitable seats for inserting and housing the upper edge of said lower supporting elements.

It is possible to provide that the box-like body of the new piece of furniture has, in said lower insertion and housing seats of said lower support elements, elements or adjustment mechanisms so as to allow the adjustment of the greater or lesser height from the floor of the front edge of the body. box-like so as to arrange horizontal or aligned with the furniture adjacent to the upper plane of the box-like body itself.

It is possible to provide for said box-like body to have, on its back facing the wall, one or more hooks or elements for fixing. The new piece of furniture comprising a parallelepiped box-like body (1) provided below said box-like body (1) is provided with one or more flat supporting elements (3) made of transparent rigid material.

In this example, the box-shaped body (1) has, on its back (1.1) facing the wall (M), one or more hooks (2) or fastening elements. These hooks (2) or elements are preferably constituted by hooks (2) adapted to be hung on a suitable bar (B) fixed to the wall (M).

Figures 4 and 5 show two further examples of embodiment of the new piece of furniture.
