Abstract
Il motore, oggetto della presente invenzione, consiste in una macchina termica che produce lavoro mediante l'espansione dell'anidride carbonica. Date le proprietà fisiche dell'anidride carbonica-temperatura critica a 31° centigradi, altri valori della pressione per temperature prossime a quella critica, grandi variazioni della pressione per piccole variazioni della temperatura - il motore in oggetto ha un alto rapporto fra il lavoro meccanico ottenuto ed il calore speso.Il principio di funzionamento è il seguente: l'anidride carbonica è contenuta in un circuito chiuso formato da due (o più serbatoi) e due (o più) cilindri contrapposti. Riscaldando il gas contenuto in uno dei due serbatoi e raffreddando quello contenuto nell'altro si ottiene un differenziale di pressione che viene utilizzato per produrre lavoro. Contemporaneamente alla produzione di lavoro una certa quantità di gas si trasferisce dal contenitore caldo a quello freddo determinando una diminuzione di pressione nel serbatoio caldo. Quando la differenza di pressione nei gas contenuti nei due serbatoi non sarà più sufficiente a produrre lavoro (1a fase ) si invertono le temperature dei gas nei due contenitori e si utilizza il gas caldo per continuare il ciclo lavorativo (2a fase). When the pressure difference in the gases contained in the two tanks is no longer sufficient to produce work (1st phase), the temperatures of the gases in the two containers are inverted and hot gas is used to continue the working cycle (2nd phase). Cyclically alternating temperatures produces continuous motor motion.
