Descrizicne dell' invenzione industriale avente per titolo: "Pinza stringilastre con sistema elastico o meccanico per un maggior blocco delle ganasce in fase di movimento" Description of the industrial invention entitled: "Plate gripper with elastic or mechanical system for greater blocking of the jaws during movement"
The plate grippers on the market are usually equipped with a passive gripping system, that is, based on the friction generated by the weight of the plate to be lifted. To keep the clamp in the open (rest) position it is equipped with a locking system that is manually disengaged when the plate is inside the clamp. In this way, the gripper engages and, upon lifting, exerts all its bearing capacity due to the friction developed between the plate and the rubberized element of the gripper itself.
Some clamps allow the clamp to be locked in the gripping position by hand, as soon as lifting has started. In this way, if the closure has taken place correctly, there is no risk of the sheet being unhooked during the unloading phase since the clamp can only be opened with an intervention (release) by the operator.
To avoid the blocking operation after lifting the plate, a condition in which the operation can be less corroding and even more risky, the model object of this patent application has been devised. This type of pliers foresees the insertion of an elastic or mechanical system in the slide of the locking system. The system in question is rather rigid in order to allow a more contained relative movement of the jaws. In this way it is possible to close the block when the plate is still resting and the clamp is closed in contact with the plate. Upon lifting, the elastic or mechanical system provides a further approach of the jaws sufficient to reach the maximum load-bearing capacity of the gripper. In the unloading phase, when the plate rests, the jaws are released which, however, remain in contact with the plate, preventing it from tilting to the side and falling.
