Descrizione di Brevetto per Invenzione Industriale avente per titolo: "PROCEDIMENTO PER LA PRODUZIONE DI MANUFATTI CERAMICI, VETROSI, CERAMICO-VETROSI, QUALI PIASTRELLE E SIMILI, DOTATI DI DECORI AVENTI CARATTERISTICHE ORGANOLETTICHE NATURALI". Patent Description for Industrial Invention entitled: "PROCEDURE FOR THE PRODUCTION OF CERAMIC, GLASS, CERAMIC-GLASS PRODUCTS, SUCH AS TILES AND SIMILAR, WITH DECORATIONS HAVING NATURAL ORGANOLEPTIC CHARACTERISTICS".
DESCRIZIONE DESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to a process for the production of ceramic, vitreous, ceramic-vitreous articles, such as tiles and the like, provided with decorations having natural organoleptic characteristics.
It is known that the ceramic industry carries out constant research to create constantly innovative products, which in terms of visual characteristics are as close as possible to matter in its natural state, whether it is stone or other.
In particular, this research focuses on the decorations with which to decorate the tiles of every size and perimeter pattern since, ultimately, once installed, they represent the visible part that gives value to the covering as a whole, whether it is applied to walls both on floors.
Numerous techniques are known and used for this purpose to attempt to achieve the predetermined results: among these the screen printing technique, both flat and rotary for machines that operate continuously, should be remembered, or the direct application of decorative materials on the upper faces of so-called "supports" in its raw state.
However, in all cases, the result, while being extremely pleasing to the eye, does not allow to reach and reproduce the variegations and brightness that are typical of substances in a strictly natural state; this is essentially due to the fact that the decoration is applied by making use of artificial means for fixing the decorations on the supports, consisting of, for example, glues and the like.
The aim of the present invention is to eliminate the aforementioned drawbacks of the known art by devising a process for the production of ceramic, vitreous, ceramic-vitreous articles, such as tiles and the like, provided with decorations having natural organoleptic characteristics which allows to use for the realization decorations, strictly natural substances without altering their organoleptic characteristics.
This task and these purposes are all achieved by the present process for the production of ceramic, vitreous, ceramic-vitreous products, such as tiles and the like, equipped with decorations having natural organoleptic characteristics characterized by the fact that they include the steps of resting on the upper face of a first base plate-like element at least one layer of organoleptically natural and substantially refractory decorative substance to it, in superimposing on said layer of decorative substance at least a second upper plate-like element of glassy and / or transparent nature having dimensions protruding from those of said layer of decorative substance, in heating the article until only said second upper plate-like element is melted and its binding to said first base element in the uncovered areas thereof exceeding said layer of decorative substance.
Ulteriori caratteristiche e vantaggi del presente trovato risulteranno maggiormente evidenti dalla descrizione di dettaglio di una forma di esecuzione preferita, ma non esclusiva, di un procedimento per la produzione di manufatti ceramici, vetrosi, ceramico-vetrosi, quali piastrelle e simili, dotati di decori aventi caratteristiche organolettiche naturali le cui fasi attuative sono illustrate a titolo indicativo, ma non limitativo, nella unita tavola di disegni in cui: le figure la ed lb mostrano In sezione le fasi di attuazione del procedimento secondo il trovato per realizzare un manufatto ceramico con punti di saldatura tra elemento di base e secondo elemento superiore posti sulla faccia dei detto elemento di base; le figure 2a e 2b mostrano ancora in sezione le fasi di attuazione del procedimento secondo il trovato per realizzare un manufatto avente i punti di saldatura tra secondo elemento superiore ed elemento di base posti sui lati di quest'ultimo; Further characteristics and advantages of the present invention will become more evident from the detailed description of a preferred but not exclusive embodiment of a process for the production of ceramic, vitreous, ceramic-vitreous articles, such as tiles and the like, provided with decorations having natural organoleptic characteristics, the implementation steps of which are illustrated by way of example, but not of limitation, in the accompanying table of drawings in which: figures la and lb show in section the steps of implementation of the method according to the invention for making a ceramic product with points of welding between the base element and the second upper element placed on the face of said base element; Figures 2a and 2b again show in section the steps for carrying out the method according to the invention for making an article having the welding points between the second upper element and the base element placed on the sides of the latter;
Figure 3 is a sectional view of a ceramic product having the base element provided with a rough supporting surface and to which a decoration is applied with the method according to the invention; Figure 4 again shows in section a ceramic article obtainable with the method according to the invention in which air chambers are defined.
With particular reference to these figures, the number 1 globally indicates a base plate-like element, the so-called "support", on the upper face of which a layer 2 of decorative substance has been placed, consisting for example of mica or micalized compounds, at powdery state, i.e. in flakes or still fluid, but still dissolved.
A second upper plate-like element, indicated with 3, preferably constituted by a transparent glass, is placed above said layer 2, according to the process of the present invention.
The product thus prepared is then introduced into a cooking oven inside which the second upper element 3 melts and deforms.
The perimeter extension of the layer 2 is maintained such as to define, preferably on the contour, uncovered areas of the upper face of said first base element 1, areas to which the aforementioned second upper element 3 is anchored by fusion, leaving instead the area occupied by the layer 2 of mica or mica compound.
Basically, the heating and the consequent fusion of the second upper element 3 determines the creation of a sort of air pocket inside which the decorating substance remains lying and unaltered.
It should be pointed out that in these pockets, sorts of air chambers "S" remain defined between the lower surface of the second upper element 3 deformed by heating and the layer 2 of decorating substance.
The aforementioned decorating substance has refractory characteristics, that is, in any case, a higher melting point than both that of the second upper element 3 and that of the first basic element 1, so that it cannot be amalgamated in any way with it during heating and melting.
In figure 1b, indicated with a thick line, the anchoring areas 4 between the first lower base element 1 and the second upper cast element 3, which in the figure, are perimeter but which could also be so-called leopard spot, i.e. scattered on the face la of the aforesaid first basic element 1.
Figures 2a and 2b show a possible variant in the implementation of the method according to the invention: the second upper element 3 has slightly larger dimensions than those of the first base element 1 and, during casting, protrudes beyond the sides of the latter, collapsing on these and going to anchor on the faces of said sides, indicated with 5 in the drawings.
In the latter case, the perimeter extension of the layer 2 can also be substantially coincident with that of the upper face la of the first base element 1.
The latter is preferably of stone or ceramic nature; however it is envisaged, according to the process of the invention, that it can itself be of a glassy nature.
In practice it has been found that the described invention achieves the intended aim and objects, ie that the covering of the layer of decorating substance by a glassy layer, even if melted, does not alter the organoleptic characteristics of the aforesaid decorating substance.
The invention thus conceived is susceptible of modifications and variations, all of which are within the scope of protection defined by the following claims.
Furthermore, all the details can be replaced by other technically equivalent ones.
In practice, the materials used, as well as the shapes and dimensions, may be any according to requirements.
