This invention relates to a particularly light ornamental mask, for use in ceremonies, celebrations, dramas and farces.

The ornamental masks of the known art use, to fix themselves on the faces of the users, two lateral support cords, with the disadvantages that the users feel excessive pressure on the face and an obstacle to breathing and sight. Thus the ornamental masks of the known art are not very suitable for being on the face for many hours.

In addition, the support strings tighten on the hair and easily ruin the hairstyles. Also, whenever the ornamental masks are taken off, it is easy to pull the hair out.

Therefore, the advantages that this invention intends to achieve are to easily put on and take off the mask, to avoid excessive pressure on the face, to avoid ruining the hairstyle, and to hinder breathing and visibility. The inventor also intends to make this ornamental mask easy to unfold and fold back and to be worn on faces without discomfort for long hours.

To this end, the mask object of the present invention is characterized in its more general characteristics as in the following claim 1. Characteristics relating to preferred solutions are indicated in the dependent claims.

Reference is made to the mask (1) in the example of Figs. 1 and 2. It is a light plastic mask with a rivet (6a) that overlaps the mask (1) on the right side of the pin hole (13) in order to allow the folding of the first retaining rod (2), and with a rivet (6b) which overlaps the template (1) on the left side of the pin hole (13) in order to allow the folding of the second retaining rod (3).

The mask has an opening (11) to be placed over the eyes of the face.

The sides (4) of the retaining rods are flanked by protruding ridges / ribs (12). Grooves (121) are engraved on the ornamental mask (1). The ridges (12) and grooves (121) pass on both sides of the pin hole (13).

The first retaining rod (2) and the second retaining rod (3) extend from the connection point to the mask so as to conform to the users' head (100) passing over their ears, and position the ornamental mask (1) on the face by means of the sides (4).

Said first retaining rod (2) and said second retaining rod (3) are fixed to the mask by engagement of the end part (5) within the groove (121).

Said ridges (12) extend from the posterior ends of the mask to the opening (11) and along the upper edge of the opening (11) to the end of the eyebrows of the mask.

The pin hole (13) passes in the middle of said ridge (12). On the inside of the first retaining rod (2) and the second retaining rod (3) there is a cylindrical recess (71), in the center of which there is a hole (72), into which the head (61) is inserted. ) of a rivet (6).

The holes (72) and (13) aligned with each other are crossed by the rivet (6). The end (62) of the rivet (6) is placed on the outer side of the mask.

The connection part of said first retaining rod (2) and second retaining rod (3) to the mask is a plate (8) (see fig. 20) and said end engagement part (5) extends with a curved path from the plate (8); the end (51) must extend beyond the plane of the plate (8) (see fig.20).

The sides (4) of the retaining rods extend from the plate (8) and gradually narrow their distance until a flexion (41) engages with the ears. The end engagement part (5) extending from the plate (8) gradually narrows its width up to the neck (52).

According to the aforementioned realization, the invention can pursue the following effects:

1. In this invention the first retaining rod (2) and the second retaining rod (3) are connected to the right and left sides of the ornamental mask (1) to achieve 360 ° of overturning; when the first retaining rod (2) and the second retaining rod (3) extend, they can be used on the user's head to hook onto the ears to avoid their pressure on the face for many hours of use; furthermore, when the first retaining rod (2) and the second retaining rod (3) are folded, space is saved for keeping in rest position, packing and transport.

2. Ornamental jig (1) in which when the first retaining rod (2) and second retaining rod (3) are extended they are firmly fixed, with the engaging end part (5) fastened to the opposite side of the relief (12) in the groove (121).

3. The relief (12) of the ornamental mask (1) has the effect of avoiding deformations caused by significant variations in the ambient temperature.

4. The first retaining rod (2) and the second retaining rod (3) are used as the rods of the glasses to engage the ears, without damaging the hair and without possible tearing of the hair when the mask is removed.

5. The rivet (6) inserted inside the grooved hole (71) without protruding satisfies functional and aesthetic requirements at the same time.

6. The aforementioned engagement end part (5) can exert pressure on the ornamental mask (1) to make the end (51) engage in the groove (121) in a safe way; furthermore said neck (52) can make the terminal part (5) elastic in order to facilitate the engagement operation.

Fig.1 and Fig.4 show a type of face decoration which includes:

- a particularly light ornamental mask (1), to be placed on the faces (10) of the users (100), used in ceremonies, celebrations, dramas and masked parties;

- a rivet (6a) which goes above the ornamental mask (1) on the right side of the hole for the pin (13) to allow the rotation of the first retaining rod (2) overturned;

- a rivet (6b) relative to the second retaining rod (3) which goes above the mask on the left side of the hole for the pin (13â € ™) to allow the rotation of the second retaining rod (3).

The ornamental mask (1) has openings (11) to be superimposed on the eyes, and on the two sides (4) of the retaining rods there are reliefs (12) protruding on the face; on the lateral part of the reliefs (12) there are grooves (121) carved into the ornamental mask (1).

The ridges (12) and grooves (121) pass on both sides of the pin hole (13).

Said first retaining rod (2) and second retaining rod (3) extend from the connection point to the mask with a curvilinear course and have an end part (5) intended to engage in the groove (121) to fix the first retaining rod (2) and the second retaining rod (3) in the working position.

The mask (1) is made of particularly light plastic material; its external part can be painted, have decorations, parts in flannel or any other decorative element according to the taste of the users.

The first retaining rod (2) and the second retaining rod (3) placed on the right and left sides of (1) are susceptible to 360 ° rotations around the axis of the rivet (6a) and of the rivet (6b) as shown in Figs.1 and 5;

The first retaining rod (2) and the second retaining rod (3) can be placed in the working position as shown in Figs.4 and 9;

The first retaining rod (2) and the second retaining rod (3) can also fold into the rest position in order to reduce the overall dimensions.

Figs. 6 and 7 show the section views Y1-Y2 and Y2-Y2 of Fig. 5;

The relief (12) is placed on the outside of the ornamental mask (1), with the internal side placed inside the groove (121);

Said first retaining rod (2) and second retaining rod (3) are placed inside the ornamental mask (1); when the engagement part (5) is engaged in the groove (121) the first retaining rod (2) and the second retaining rod (3) will remain fixed in the working position.

Fig.8 shows the section of Fig.7 with the retaining rod (2) turned 90 ° downwards and the engagement end part (5) facing upwards.

When the retaining rods are placed in the working position, the user must exert a considerable force to make the end part of engagement (5) enter the groove (121).

Fig. 6 highlights the rounded shape of the mask.

Fig.10 represents the Z-Z section of Fig.9. When the first retaining rod (2) and the second retaining rod (3) are folded into the working position, the end engagement part (5) will engage in the groove (121) thus immobilizing the first retaining rod ( 2) or the second retaining rod (3).

Said relief (12) of the mask (1) has an ornamental effect in addition to avoiding possible deformations of the mask due to temperature changes.

The relief (12), as shown in Figs. 1 and 5, extends from a terminal part of the ornamental mask (1) to the opening (11) and along the opening (11) to the terminal part of the eyebrow of the mask. As shown in Figs. 11 and 12, the relief (12) is on two sides of the ornamental mask (1) and the rivet (6b) is in the median part of the relief (12). As shown in Figs. 13 and 14 said relief (12) has two depressions on the two sides of the ornamental mask (1); the pin hole (13) is in the median part of the relief (12). The ornamental mask (1) is made of particularly light plastic material.

As shown in Figs. 2 and 6, the cylindrical recess (71) present in the first retaining rod (2) and the second retaining rod (3) is positioned without protruding a head (61) of the rivets (6a) and ( 6b) so as not to exert any pressure on the face.

As shown in the figures, the rivet (6) is inserted in the hole (72) present in the center of the cylindrical recess (71) with the second head (62) located on the external side of the ornamental mask (1).

As shown in Fig. 15 said first retaining rod (2) and said second retaining rod (3) extend from the connection point to the mask conforming to the user's head up to his ears, and positioning himself on the face with the side (4) and thereby limiting the pressure on the face.

Figs. 16 and 17 show the ornamental mask (1) placed on the front face (10) of the users (100) and highlight its decorative function of the eyes. It has no glass covering the orifices. The relief (12) and the outer side of the groove (121) are conspicuously decorated in accordance with the decorative function of the mask.

Figs. 18 and 19 differ from Figs. 16 and 17 for the shape of the mask. They show a mask that completely covers the face except the front. However, the same mask could also be extended to the forehead.

The first retaining rod (2) and the second retaining rod (3) described up to now are exemplary embodiments. A further example, considered the best, is represented in Fig. 20. Fig. 20 shows in (A) the front view of the first retaining rod (2) and of the second retaining rod (3) and in (B) the left side view. The connecting part of the first retaining rod (2) and the second retaining rod (3) is a flat plate (8) with a cylindrical recess (71) and a hole (72) placed in the center. The engagement end part (5) extends from the plate (8) at an angle à ̧ with respect to the plane of the plate. The end (51) must end beyond the plane of the plate at a distance (L) from it. In this way the end part of engagement (5) exerts an elastic force on the mask to allow the end (51) to engage in the groove (121) in a stable way.

Furthermore, the end engaging part (5) extending from the plate (8) gradually narrows its width up to a part (52) which acts as a neck. Said neck (52) serves to give less rigidity to the end part of engagement (5).

The embodiments described above have been illustrated by way of non-limiting example. Therefore, these examples are susceptible of omissions of parts, additions or obvious variants without however departing from the scope of protection of the following claims.

Claims (1)

CLAIMS 1. Face mask, of an ornamental character, with a laminar body (1) in plastic material shaped so as to be able to overlap the face, adapting to its shape, with openings (11) to be placed in correspondence with the eyes of the face, and in which are present : - a first retaining rod (2) and a second retaining rod (3) connected, by means of pins (6a, 6b), to a point on the first and respectively second side of the aforementioned body (1), capable of assuming a position working position and a rest position, having a first part (4) which, in the working position, extends from the connection point to the respective aforesaid side up to the user's ear, engaging to it, and a second part (5) which, extending from the aforesaid point in the opposite direction to that of the first part, engages, through one of its ends (51), with a groove of a number of grooves (121) present on said body; - grooves (121) present on the external surface of the laminar body (1) having parts located on opposite bands with respect to each of the aforesaid pins, suitable for engaging with the aforesaid second part (5) when the aforesaid rods are in the working position or respectively in rest position; - ribs (12) protruding from the surface of the mask and passing in correspondence with the aforementioned grooves. Ornamental mask as in claim 1 wherein said ribs (12) extend from the rear end parts of the laminar body (1) to the openings (11) and along the upper edge of said openings (11) acting as an eyebrow. 3. Ornamental mask (1) according to claim 1 in which said ribs (12) pass on the two sides of the ornamental mask (1) and have holes (13,13â € ™) for housing the aforesaid pins (6a, 6b). 4. Ornamental mask (1) according to claim 3 wherein said ribs (12) are each divided into two parts, the holes (13,13â € ™) being in the middle of said parts. 5. Ornamental mask as in Rev. 1 in which on one side (4) of the first retaining rod (2) and of the second retaining rod (3) there is a cylindrical recess (71), in the center of which there is a hole (72), into which the head (61) of a rivet (6) is inserted, performing the function of the aforementioned pin (13), the second head (62) of the rivet (6) being located outside the laminar body ( 1). 6. Ornamental mask as in Rev. 1 in which the part of the first retaining rod (2) and of the second retaining rod (3) crossed by the pin (13) is a flat plate (8), the end part of engagement (5 ) extending from the plate (8) with a curvilinear course, first moving away and subsequently approaching the plane of the plate until its end (51) is beyond the aforementioned plane of arrangement. 7. Ornamental mask as in Rev. 6 in which said first part (4) extending from the plate (8) gradually narrows its thickness until it bends downwards with a curvature (41) destined to engage the ear, while said second part engagement terminal (5) extending from the plate (8) gradually narrows its width up to a part (52) acting as a neck.
