DESCRIZIONE DESCRIPTION
Annessa a domanda di brevetto per INVENZIONE INDUSTRIALE avente per titolo: Attached to a patent application for INDUSTRIAL INVENTION entitled:
"USO DI ARGILLE ACIDE PER IL TRATTAMENTO DI COLTURE CONTRO L’ATTACCO DI INSETTI FITOFAGI" "USE OF ACID CLAYS FOR THE TREATMENT OF CROPS AGAINST THE ATTACK OF PHYTOPHAGUS INSECTS"
The present invention relates to the use of acid clays for the treatment of crops against the attack of phytophagous insects.
In recent decades there has been a strong increase in the so-called "organic agriculture", which requires, among other things, to implement phytotherapeutic treatments on crops that use products of natural origin that are free from toxicity problems both in the application phase and for the final consumer.
In this context, the use, especially in fruit growing and viticulture, of acid clays is known to increase the resistance of various plant species to attack by pathogenic fungi and bacteria. These acid clays generally consist mainly of rock alum, possibly mixed with bentonite, and are available on the market under various brands, for example Mycosin® and Ulmasud® of the company Biofa AG (Germany).
It is known that many crops, in particular fruit and / or horticulture, can be attacked by various phytophagous insects, the guali, feeding on the external portions of the plant (in particular fruits, leaves and / or shoots) and / or internal liguides (lymph), undermine its vegetative development and, in severe cases, can cause its death. The treatment against this type of attacks usually involves the use of insecticidal substances of synthetic origin, generally having high toxicity and which can therefore be applied on crops only according to strict protocols to avoid harmful effects for the applicator, the environment and the final consumer.
The Applicant has now found that acid clays as defined below can be used for the treatment of crops against the attack of phytophagous insects, so as to obtain the substantially complete elimination of such insects without using synthetic chemicals.
According to a first aspect, the present invention therefore relates to the use of an acid clay for the treatment of crops against the attack of phytophagous insects.
Preferably, the acid clay suitable for the purposes of the present invention is a salt, in particular silicate or sulphate, of aluminum, optionally in the form of a double salt with at least one other metal, in particular iron, alkali metals (for example potassium), metals alkaline earth (e.g. magnesium).
In particular, the acid clay is preferably a hydrated aluminum and potassium sulfate, in particular rock alum (i.e. double aluminum sulfate and potassium dodecahydrate), optionally in mixture with at least one phyllosilicate, for example bentonite and / or montmorillonite .
The acid clays that can be used according to the present invention are classified as "stone or rock dust" in accordance with the Decree of the Italian Ministry of Health (SACO-AOO-SACO Official Register 000 44 31 of 18 March 2009).
The acid clay can be applied, according to the present invention, in the form of a wettable powder or in the form of a dry powder. In the case of application as a wettable powder, the acid clay can preferably be mixed with adhesive and / or wetting products, for example glycerin.
Preferibilmente l'argilla acida viene applicata in una guantità da 1 a 30 kg/ettaro, preferibilmente da 5 a 15 kg/ettaro The treatment in accordance with the present invention is preferably carried out at the vegetative restart of the plant and subsequently at regular intervals (for example on a weekly basis). The acid clay can be applied in varying degrees, mainly according to the specific insect responsible for the infestation, the type of crop and the environmental conditions. Preferably the acid clay is applied in a glove from 1 to 30 kg / hectare, preferably from 5 to 15 kg / hectare
The use of an acid clay in accordance with the present invention has proved particularly effective against the following phytophagous insects: Psylla, Cecidomia, Carpocapsa, Phyllominators (in particular Lithocollete and Cemiostoma), Aphids, Litocollete, Cidia, Corn borer, Tuta Absoluta, Colorado potato beetle, Olive fly.
Più in particolare, un trattamento con argilla acida secondo la presente invenzione può essere applicato : More specifically, an acid clay treatment according to the present invention can be applied:
sul Pero, contro: Psilla, Cemiostoma, Carpocapsa, Cecidomia; on the Pear, against: Psylla, Cemiostoma, Carpocapsa, Cecidomia;
sul Melo, contro: Afidi, Litocollete, Carpocapsa, Cecidomia; on the Apple tree, against: Aphids, Litocollete, Carpocapsa, Cecidomia;
sulle Drupacee, contro: Cidia, Afidi; on Drupaceae, against: Cidia, Aphids;
su colture industriali, contro: Piralide del Mais; on industrial crops, against: Corn borer;
sul Pomodoro, contro: Tuta Absoluta; on the Tomato, against: Tuta Absoluta;
sulla Patata, contro: Dorifora della Patata; on the Potato, against: Colorado potato beetle;
sull'Olivo, contro: Mosca dell'Olivo. sull'Olivo, against: Mosca dell'Olivo.
In particular, the Applicant has carried out an experimentation on large surfaces of the treatment with acid clay, starting at the vegetative restart and with subsequent interventions on a weekly basis. In this way a constant cover of the vegetation was achieved and the various parasites found this cover already in the flight phase of the adults. An aqueous dispersion containing 1 kg of acid clay per 100 1 of water was used for the treatments, which was distributed over the crop by means of a tractor-driven "atomizer". The quantity of product applied was varied from 500 l / hectare in the first treatments, up to 1000 l / hectare in post-flowering and 1200-1500 l / hectare in the period of full vegetative development.
Grazie a tale sperimentazione sul campo la Richiedente ha constatato che l'argilla acida svolge principalmente le seguenti azioni: Thanks to this field experimentation, the Applicant has found that the acid clay mainly performs the following actions:
- effetto repellente sugli insetti adulti, si è infatti notata una riduzione del 80-90% di adulti di Psilla del Pero, Carpocapsa e Cemiostoma e del 40-50% di Cecidomia, rispetto ad analogo trattamento con un Abamectina, un noto agente chimico utilizzato in agricoltura contro l'attacco di insetti fitofagi; - repellent effect on adult insects, a reduction of 80-90% of adults of Psilla del Pero, Carpocapsa and Cemiostoma and of 40-50% of Cecidomia was noted, compared to a similar treatment with an Abamectin, a well-known chemical agent used in agriculture against the attack of phytophagous insects;
effetto sulle uova deposte dagli insetti, grazie alle proprietà igroscopiche dell'argilla acida. effect on the eggs laid by insects, thanks to the hygroscopic properties of the acid clay.
On the other hand, no activity was observed on the nymphs and on the larvae in the later stages of development.
