Abstract

An apparatus for transporting disabled people on stairs and the like, comprising a supporting frame which can slidingly engage guides which are connected to a fixed structure. A tilting platform (2) for supporting the passenger and at least one safety bar (3) are connected to the supporting frame; the bar is movable from a raised position to allow passenger access and descent to a position of minimum space occupation in which it is adjacent to the supporting frame. The apparatus further comprises crush-prevention means (30) of the bar (3) which are adapted to provide an elastic yielding of the at least one safety bar (3) if there is an obstacle between the at least one safety bar and the supporting frame. <IMAGE>

An apparatus for transporting disabled people along stairs and the like, comprising a support frame which can be slidably engaged on guides connected to a fixed structure, connected to said frame being a folding platform for supporting the passenger and at least one safety bar that can be moved from a raised position for boarding and alighting of the passenger, to a position of minimum encumbrance in which it is approached to said support frame, characterized by the fact that it comprises anti-crushing means for the bar able to provide an elastic yielding of said at least one safety bar due to the presence of an obstacle between said at least one safety bar and said support frame.

Apparatus, according to the preceding claim, characterized in that it comprises a vertical sliding guide for said at least one safety bar, defined on a side of said frame, a first and a second pin spaced apart from each other sliding in said vertical guide , said vertical guide having an inclined upper portion for the rotation of said bar and a lower portion for the elastic yielding of said bar.

Apparatus according to the preceding claims, characterized in that it comprises a control chain for moving said bar, said chain unwinding on a lower pinion and an upper pinion and engaging with a control pinion operated by a motor supported in said frame, one of said pins being connected to said drive chain.

Apparatus, according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that it comprises a shoe for assembling said pins that can be engaged, in the lower portion of said vertical guide, with an elastically yielding abutment bar, in correspondence with the positioning zone of said elastically yielding bar said vertical guide defining a widening with the possibility of oscillation of said pins with consequent inclination of said safety bar.

5. Apparatus according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said abutment bar is provided with elongated slots slidably engaged by fixed pins, elastic means being also provided for elastically pushing said abutment bar against said shoe.

6. Apparatus according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized by the fact that it comprises driving microswitches that are normally pressed, with actuation elements acting on the microswitch being also provided for releasing it in the various control positions.

Apparatus according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said motor is supported by a tilting central plate, acting on said central plate by an actuation rod or screw for the overturning of said plate with disengagement of said pinion command from said chain, for the manual or emergency maneuver of said bar.
