Il presente trovato concerne una cassa strutturale ad espansione da sistemare all'interno di scafi di navi ed imbarcazioni in corrispondenza della volta di poppa al di sopra dell'elica di propulsione. La parte inferiore della cassa e' aperta mentre i fianchi laterali e la parte superiore sono stagni. Tale cassa ha lo scopo di attenuare considerevolmente le pulsazioni di pressione trasmesse dalle pale dell'elica sulla volta di poppa e quindi i livelli di vibrazioni e rumore indotti dall' elica sullo scafo. L'effetto smorzante e' garantito da un opportuno cuscino d'aria che si viene a creare all'interno della cassa e tra scafo ed elica a poppavia della cassa stessa. L'aria affluisce all'interno della cassa attraverso un opportuno tubo di sfogo sistemato sulla parte superiore della cassa e comunicante con l'atmosfera. La creazione di tale cuscino d'aria e' resa possibile da una opportuna sagomatura della cassa che presenta delle forme tali da consentirne l 'autosvuotamnto con il movimento proprio della nave/ imbarcazione .
