DESCRIZIONE DESCRIPTION

Sono note sponde di protezione,per macchine per la lavorazione del legno (in specie per le cosiddette macchine "Toupie"), che comprendono una parete formante una finestra e presentante mezzi per delimitare profili che seguono in negativo il profilo del gruppo dell'utensile. Questi mezzi creano una sagoma a scalini che nei confronti della sagoma dell'utensile (rispetto al quale deve essere creata una protezione dell'operatore) lascia spazi tali da non sempre rappresentare una protezione sufficientemente efficace. I detti mezzi possono essere costituiti da stecche scorrevoli e bloccabili con rispettivi organi a vite, il che costituisce una operazione abbastanza lunga. Claims

CLAIMS 1. A protective edge for woodworking machines, especially for the so-called "Toupie" machines, comprising a wall forming guides for the sliding of protective slats in the two parts of the edge that flank the opening corresponding to the tool with respect to which the slats create a protection, since locking means for the positioned slats are provided, characterized in that said wall (1) forms for each slat (12) a guide (3) adapted to cooperate with a longitudinal seat (14) obtained in the splint (12); and that the slats (12) are contiguous to each other, so that the protection in the opening or window (F) is formed with a profile highly approximating the ideal protection shape with respect to the tool.

2. Guide and protection edge as per claim 1, characterized in that: the longitudinal seats (14) in the slats (12) and the guides (3) of the wall (1) have a limited play; and that as locking means there are screw or dowel means (18) which, acting on the slat (10) in the extreme position, compress the slats (12) against each other with the surfaces facing each other.

3. Guide and protection edge as per claim 1 or 2, characterized by the fact that the facing surfaces of contiguous slats (12) have longitudinal profiles (12A, 12B) interpenetrating and with inclined surfaces, which determine a mutual engagement between the slats .

4. Guide and protection edge, as per claim 3, characterized in that said longitudinal profiles (12A, 12B) are "V" shaped.

5. Guide and protection edge according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the guides (3) and the seats (14) have circular section profiles.

6. Guide and protection edge as per at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it comprises gaskets (20) which act between the wall and the ribs, to create a certain friction on the ribs and to hinder the penetration of dust and particles between guides and slats.

7. A protective edge for woodworking machines, especially for "Toupie" machines, all as described above and shown by way of example in the attached drawing.
