Description
"DISPOSITIVO DELINEATORE DI OSTACOLO" "OBSTACLE DELINEATOR DEVICE"
DESCRIZIONE DESCRIPTION
The present invention refers to an improvement of an obstacle delineator device of the type provided for in Article 177 of the New Italian Highway Code and illustrated therein in Fig. 11-472, suitable for signaling the presence of a traffic divider obstacle in relief on a a roadway, for example to divide traffic flows or to signal a narrowing of the carriageway. To avoid that, in poor lighting conditions, the traffic divider is hit by any vehicle, the device is generally equipped with reflective means placed on the vertical surfaces of the device or even on special signs above the ends of the traffic divider itself. However, the visibility of the central reservation thus indicated may be insufficient, especially at night, when the limited traffic allows higher speeds and / or adverse weather conditions are present, such as fog, rain or other.
The present invention has the purpose of overcoming this drawback and relates to an obstacle delineation device presenting to oncoming traffic or more reflective surfaces, mostly vertical, in which means are housed suitable for emitting light towards oncoming traffic. Furthermore, the device comprises a control circuit with a twilight switch to power said light means when visibility becomes critical.
In a preferred constructive embodiment, this surface is cylindrical with a vertical axis and in any case with the convexity facing the oncoming traffic, and on said surface and cylindrical said light emission means define one or more luminous strips arranged according to generative or directives of said surface cylindrical.
Preferably, said light emitting means are "LED" diodes aligned with each other to form a row along the axis of each of said strips. In each strip, said "LEDs" can be placed side by side or regularly spaced from each other. The "LEDs" can also be driven to emit intermittent light or can be of the type that emits colored light.
In a particular constructive form of the invention, in front of the "LEDs", in the direction of emission, each of said light strips can comprise a cylindrical lens developed for the entire length of the strip, to collect most of the light emitted by the "LEDs" and direct it to traffic. To make it directly visible, this cylindrical lens can also have a knurled surface.
In a preferred embodiment, the "LEDs" of each strip are contained in a transparent tube for protection against atmospheric agents and impacts, said tube facing towards traffic from a slot formed in said cylindrical reflecting surface.
Nel disegno: la The invention will be better understood by following the description and the attached drawing, which shows a non-limiting solution of the invention itself. In the drawing: the

Figs.6 and 7 show front views similar to that of Fig.2 of other constructive forms of the invention.
In the case of Fig.1, the device 1 according to the invention is used to signal a sidewalk 3 placed between two traffic streams indicated by the arrows FI, F2. The device 1, by means of a pair of brackets 1Z, is mounted on a pole 5 inserted in a seat of the traffic divider 3 and presents to oncoming traffic <'> a cylindrical reflective surface 1A on which there are three strips 1B arranged vertically second generatrices of the cylindrical surface 1A (see also Figs. 2 and 4), These strips, as will be better described below, are made to emit light towards oncoming traffic when visibility conditions become precarious.
In practice, in the reflecting surface 1A, to house each strip 1A, a slot 1C is made (see Fig. 5) from which a transparent plastic tube 7 extends along the entire length of the slot. The tube 7 contains a narrow electronic board 9 developed along its entire length and on which a row of luminous diodes or "LEDs" 11 is applied adjacent to each other and facing towards the slot 1C. A cylindrical lens 13 is arranged in front of the "LEDs", also developed along the entire length of the strip 1B to collect and concentrate the light emitted by the "LEDs" 11 towards the oncoming traffic. On the convex surface 13A of the lens 13 there is a knurling adapted to diffuse the light and to make the lens itself visible as a vertical luminous strip. For each strip 1B, a casing 14 fixed internally to the cylindrical wall 1A, supports the tube 7 with the "LEDs" 11.
The "LED" assembly 11 is powered by solar cells 15A applied to a rear flat surface 1D of the device, or also by solar cells 15B, 15C applied to the two faces of a flat panel of the device itself, so as to expose more cells to the illumination of the sun. Said solar cells power, during the day, a battery (not shown) kept charged in buffer by means of a special control circuit (not shown). This control circuit, through a twilight sensor, also switches on the "LEDs" at night or in any case when the visibility conditions become critical.
In the constructive embodiment illustrated in Fig.6, "LEDs" 100 each forming a luminous circle with a diameter of about 1 cm are aligned spaced apart according to generatrices 101B of the cylindrical reflector surface 101A of the device.
In the constructive form of Fig.7, the "LEDs" 100 are aligned spaced apart according to the directives 201B of the cylindrical reflective surface 201A of the device.
