Attualmente i prodotti ortofrutticoli sfusi, prodotti manufatturieri e minuterie di ogni tipo, vengono trasportati con cassoni, detti anche bins. Essi sono solitamente di plastica ma possono anche trovarsi, in certe occasioni, di legno o metallici.
