Titolo: RILEVATORE DI IDRATAZIONE CUTANEA A CRISTALLI LIQUIDI MICROINCAPSULATI Title: MICRO-ENCAPSULATED LIQUID CRYSTALS DETECTOR OF SKIN HYDRATION
TESTO DELLA DESCRIZIONE TEXT OF THE DESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to the use of inicroencapsulated liquid crystals to detect skin hydration in particular of the face and therefore the effectiveness of skin treatments with moisturizing products.
Contact thermography is a modern method that allows you to "read", through the colors, the temperatures of a specific surface.
It works with special plates, on which microencapsulated liquid crystals (ELC) are deposited, which are applied to the body area to be examined.
Liquid crystals are chemical substances that have the property of rotating on their axis based on changes in the temperature with which they come into contact, thus modifying their helical structure.
The rays of white light that fall on the faces of the crystals are partly absorbed and partly reflected. According to the angle of reflection, which depends on the position of the helical structure of the microcrystals, the colors of these rays change.
There is therefore a change in the color of these plates linked to a change in temperature.
The liquid crystal plates therefore allow to trace real "thermal maps" of the body region under examination.
The HPCT (High Performance Contact Thermography) plates, in particular, allow a more precise detection of the thermal aspects, thanks to the special technology of thin-layer crystal deposition.
The colors that appear during the exam follow a very precise scale. The color change starts with brown, followed by red, green, violet, light blue and blue. More particularly, taking as a basis a surface temperature of the face of about 30 ° C, we have that the brown color appears at 29 °, the red at 30, the green at 31, the violet at 32, the blue at 33 and the blue at 34. It is understood that the temperatures of the face can also vary in more or less than 4 C and in this regard it is possible to use HPCT plates with different temperatures and with more reduced or enlarged temperature differences, according to the decisions of the operator who will carry out the examination.
The coldest temperatures are however represented by the colors brown and red, while the warmest by green, violet, blue and blue.
HPCT plates have been used for several years in the aesthetic-professional sector for the detection of cellulite and the control of the related curative treatments.
Thanks to recent technical and scientific studies it has been possible to demonstrate the effectiveness of these plates also for detecting the hydration status of the skin.
In fact, contact thermography makes it possible to evaluate the increase in skin temperature following the application of moisturizing creams or lotions.
These products are known to cause the stimulation of the vasomotility of the smallest arteries. The intensification of the blood supply and circulation is necessarily followed by the increase in skin temperature.
In fact, the absorption of moisturizing substances initially causes a vasoconstriction of the capillaries, followed by an immediate dilation of the pores and therefore an improvement in blood circulation, with a consequent increase in skin temperature.
By placing a plate on the face before and after applying the moisturizing product, it is possible to observe a change in the colors, from the coldest to the warmest - demonstrating that the product has had its effectiveness.
Per effettuare una corretta termografia bisogna tuttavia seguire le seguenti indicazioni: To carry out a correct thermography, however, the following indications must be followed:
(a) dry your face thoroughly. The skin must be completely clean; traces of grease or humidity can compromise the thermographic grip.
(b) E' auspicabile operare in un ambiente con temperatura costante. Evitare dunque finestre aperte, correnti d'aria, stufette o apparecchi che modifichino l'umidita' ambientale. La temperatura ideale e’ compresa tra i 20°ed i 24° C. (b) It is desirable to operate in a constant temperature environment. Therefore avoid open windows, drafts, heaters or appliances that modify the ambient humidity. The ideal temperature is between 20 ° and 24 ° C.
(c) Place the plate on the face exerting a uniform and constant pressure, making it adhere perfectly to the cheek; any gap can compromise the thermographic examination.
(d) Wait a few seconds (about 10) until the colors stabilize. Take note of the main colors that appear on the plate.
(e) apply the moisturizing product, massaging until it is completely absorbed.
(f) Place the plate again on the same area of the face and wait for the colors to stabilize.
Compare the colors with those of the previous exam. Skin hydration is demonstrated by an increase in the temperature of the face, therefore by the appearance of "warmer" colors (green - blue).
It should be noted that no graphic illustration of the skin hydration detector according to the present invention is necessary since the flexible and / or elastic plate supporting the microencapsulated liquid crystals can assume any desired geometric shape and be of any suitable size, and it may obviously have areas, particularly those on board, devoid of liquid crystals, on which the instructions for use and the most various desired wordings can be printed, and which all modifications, variations and / or additions can be made to the found. of elements that fall within the technological knowledge of thermography and liquid crystals, without departing from its spirit or its purpose and without even departing from its scope of protection, which is also defined in the attached claims.
