L'autosilo a stoccaggio meccanizzato comprende una struttura ad alveare (2, 2A), una struttura traslante (3, 3A), un dispositivo per il sollevamento dei veicoli (4, 4A) ed un dispositivo per la traslazione dei veicoli (5, 5A). La struttura traslante (3, 3A) è scorrevole su rotaie (11, 12; 11A, 12A) ed è conformata a portale e comprende almeno un montante (8, 8A) cavo nel cui interno per ragioni di spazio è scorrevole il contrappeso (15, 16A) del dispositivo di sollevamento (4, 4A). Un altro risparmio di spazio è ottenuto disponendo le rotaie superiori (11, 11A) lateralmente e parallelamente alle traverse (10, 10A).
