Claims

1) Package (1) of smoking items including:

an outer container (2) having a bottom wall (6), a front wall (7), a rear wall (8), and two side walls (9);

a lid (4) that ? hinged to the outer container (2) along a hinge (5) and has an upper wall (10), a front wall (11), a rear wall (12), and two side walls (13);

an overwrap (14) which surrounds and envelops the outer container (2) and the lid (4); and

a ribbon (16) of tear-off opening that ? coupled to the overwrap (14) and ? adapted to be pulled to divide the overwrap (14) into a lower portion (17) not connected to the tear-opening strip (16) and in an upper portion (18) integral with the tear-opening strip (16);

wherein the lid (4) has a front edge (24) which delimits the front wall (11) at the bottom;

the package (1) of smoking articles ? characterized in that the tear-off opening ribbon (16) ? arranged between the upper wall (10) of the lid (4) and the front edge (24) of the lid (4) in such a way that the upper portion (18) of the overwrap (14) is more? small part of the lid (4) and the lower portion (17) of the overwrap (14) partially covers the lid (4).

8) Packet (1) of smoking articles according to one of claims 1 to 7, wherein the lower portion (17) of the overwrapping (14) has at least one pre-weakened line (26) which favors tearing, originates in proximity? of an upper edge of the lower portion (17), and extends towards the lower wall (6).

The package (1) of smoking articles according to claim 7, wherein the pre-weakened line (26) is parallel to longitudinal edges of the outer container (2) defined between the front wall (7) and the rear wall (8) and the two side walls (9).

10) Packet (1) of smoking articles according to claim 7 or 8, wherein the overwrap (14) is made up of a sheet (15) of wrapping which ? been folded around the external container (2) and the lid (4) and ? been stabilized by at least one heat seal; and in which the pre-weakened line (26) ? consisting of at least one through cut which completely passes through the sheet (15) of wrapping.

11) Package (1) of smoking articles according to claim 10, wherein:

the sheet (15) of wrapping has two opposite flaps (20, 21) which are superimposed and heat-sealed to form a longitudinal seal (22); and the pre-weakened line (26) ? arranged in correspondence with the longitudinal welding (22).

12) Packet (1) of smoking articles according to claim 11, wherein the pre-weakened line (26) affects only one of the two flaps (20, 21) of the sheet (15) of wrapping.

13) Package (1) of smoking articles according to claim 11 or 12, wherein the longitudinal weld (22) has a neutral zone (27) inside it which is? without welding between the two flaps (20, 21), it contains the pre-weakened line (26) inside, and ? completely surrounded by joined portions in which the two flaps (20, 21) are welded together.

14) Package (1) of smoking articles according to claim 13, wherein the neutral zone (27) has a longitudinal extension, i.e. parallel to longitudinal edges of the outer container (2) defined between the front wall (7) and the (8) rear and the two (9) side walls, greater than a transverse extension.

15) Package (1) of smoking articles according to claim 13 or 14, wherein the neutral zone (27) has a longitudinal extension, i.e. parallel to longitudinal edges of the outer container (2) defined between the front wall (7) and the rear wall (8) and the two side walls (9), greater than a longitudinal extension of the pre-weakened line (26).
