Description
DESCRIZIONE DESCRIPTION
Shoes are the means by which we unload our weight on the ground and the most important means on which the forces external to our body act. The force exerted in the impact of the foot and shoe is approximately equal to our weight during normal walking and becomes three or four times our weight during running. The impact is concentrated in the heels and sole of the foot. This can produce fatigue, muscle aches and sometimes cause ailments. For these reasons, footwear models with shock absorption systems have been developed and are on the market. Many patents present shock absorption systems for shoes with springs or air cushions such as US6457261 B1, US20100095553 A1 US5743028, WO2015059744 A1, US4722131 A, W02010007456A1. Patent W02012FR50614 features a shoe with a shock absorber that extends horizontally.
Footwear generally comprises a sole, a midsole and an upper. The sole or tread (figurei, detail 1) is in direct contact with the ground, it is a hard, wear-resistant layer, developed to adapt to the ground and provide the best grip. The midsole is the primary structural layer that performs the shock absorption function. This patent consists of a midsole with a system that in addition to absorbing the impact, stores energy which is subsequently released with a propulsive thrust. This invention has a double effect; it allows both shock absorption and elastic release with a propulsive thrust action. The midsole consists of at least one upper frame (figure1, detail 2) and a lower one (figure1, detail 3), of rigid or flexible material, preferably semi-rigid, separated by a compartment (figure1, detail 4). The upper frame has a flat-like shape to house the sole of the foot while the lower frame has an arched shape that is similar to or accentuates the plantar curvature. The vertex of the curvature of the lower frame is located in the plantar area approximately in correspondence with the load line. The vertex of the curvature of the lower frame is indicatively the point of contact with the upper frame.
The upper and lower frame can be hinged or joined to each other to form a single structure.
The lower frame can only consist of a front part covering the forefoot (figure 3) or only the rear part covering the heel (figure 4). Another configuration is that in which the ends of the two frames are in contact or connected.
The patent relates to the system described and covers the different types of construction of the frames that can be developed using different classes of shapes, sizes and materials used for the construction of the frames.
The upper part of the frame can be covered by an insole that welcomes the foot while the lower part of the frame can be covered with elastomeric material that prevents direct contact with the ground, as well as constituting an anti-slip means.
Inside the compartment, one or more elastic elements can be inserted between the upper and lower frame (figure 1, details 5 and 6).
connessi o disconnessi dal telaio. connected or disconnected from the chassis.
Only by way of example, the elastic parts can be made of carbon, elastic and super elastic materials, shape memory materials, super elastic alloys, etc., or they can be springs of the most various types: cylindrical, flat, conical , telescopic, etc .. The elastic parts can be equipped with a preload adjustment or weight adjustment device.
To improve the efficiency of the system, the upper and lower parts of the frame can be connected by a locking mechanism preferably placed in the back of the midsole. This locking mechanism is mechanically operated by one or more control levers arranged in the upper frame or electronically operated by one or more sensors arranged on the upper frame. The locking mechanism works by locking the upper part of the midsole with the lower one, making them integral. This lock occurs close to the maximum compression in the support-impact phase, while it is released during the detachment phase of the foot, allowing the elastic parts to expand and providing a propulsive thrust. The locking and release system can be made in different ways and techniques, using different shapes, materials and sizes. By way of example, the system may consist of a ratchet mechanism with a toothed band or piston and a pawl or nose loaded by a spring. The ratchet or beak connected by levers arranged in the upper part of the frame or near it. The aforementioned pawl or beak frees the mechanism in the support phase of the heel, blocks it indicatively at maximum compression and keeps it locked for the entire support phase, finally making it free when the foot is taken off.
During the support phase, being elastic at least one of the frames, they compress as they approach and accumulate energy, energy that is released in the detachment phase, when the two frames move away, releasing a propulsive thrust.
In fact, the system stores energy from the back of the foot (heel and sole) and transmits it through the frame to the front of the foot (forefoot and toes) providing a propulsive thrust action.
The described system reduces the energy expenditure of walking or running and provides greater comfort.
The patent can be applied to a multitude of footwear including running shoes, boots, sandals, tennis shoes, work shoes, orthopedic shoes, casual shoes, sports shoes, heels, etc. The patent produces many benefits, the shock absorption and the propulsion thrust give the shoe efficiency, comfort that translate into less fatigue in the subject who wears them.
