Abstract

Cold air is introduced into the bubble through a number of angled jets extending outwards in a radial direction, creating a turbulent flow of air around the bubble central axis. A method for blow-film extrusion of a tubular polyolefin film (24) by extruding molten polyolefin in an upwards direction through a ring-shaped die (22) and drawing the film upwards uniformly as a bubble, during which cold air is introduced to the inside of the bubble and used air is continuously removed. Cold air is introduced through a number of angled jets extending outwards in a radial direction, creating a turbulent flow of air around the bubble central axis. An independent claim is also included for the extruder.
