Abstract
Internally hollow natural or silicone rubber accessory in the shape of a truncated cone used for fixing soft catheters implanted in the human body for therapeutic purposes (administration of drugs from the exterior). Currently available systems are not useful and result in displacement of the catheter which requires high-cost replacement. The smaller end of the accessory is closed and provided with three holes at the bottom, of which two are small, anterior, parallel and to the side, and one is at the rear, below, in a central position. The larger opening has only two lower parallel holes at the side. Technique: the catheter is caused to pass through the walls of the accessory several times using a suitable guide; this forms sinusoidal loops which when drawn from one end of the catheter (that emerging from the larger opening) become tightened upon the rubber accessory making accidental removal of the catheter impossible once the accessory has been secured to the skin with sutures. It is covered with transparent plaster. <IMAGE>
