Un gruppo pignoni per biciclette include almeno due pignoni affiancati (1, 2) di diametro differente, il pignone di diametro maggiore (2) presentando un dente (15s) atto a sostenere la catena durante il deragliamento di quest'ultima dal pignone di diametro minore (1) al pignone di diametro maggiore (2). Tale dente (15s) presenta a tal fine una superficie di appoggio a gradino (15b) disposta sulla sua faccia opposta a quella rivolta verso il pignone di diametro minore (1).(Figura 2).
