Abstract
Pharmaceutical preparations for oral use based on isosorbide mononitrate and dinitrate, in particular isosorbide 5-mononitrate, characterised in that they yield up the active substance in a controlled way over an extended period (approximately 14 hours), are described. Said preparations find application in the treatment of heart failure, prophylaxis against angina pectoris attacks, treatment following myocardial infarction and make it possible to use a particularly advantageous dosage (single daily administration).
