Abstract
Per ridurre i rischi di incendio che possono verificarsi quando per usura almeno uno dei conduttori (42, 44) di un cavo di alimentazione perde la sua continuità consentendo un passaggio aleatorio di corrente che arrivi a provocare archi ripetuti (60) tendenti ad incendiare materiali elettricamente isolanti ma infiammabili, si impiega un conduttore di guardia (66), circondante i conduttori (42, 44) e collegabile alla presa di terra (32) prescritta per ogni impianto elettrico per provocare l'intervento di un interrutore differenziale (14) del tipo ad alta sensibilità per protezione da folgorazioni.In particolare, il conduttore di guardia (66) viene avvolto attorno alla coppia di conduttori formante il cavo di alimentazione ed è nella forma di un nastro piatto o una reticella in metallo (preferibilmente rame) per abbassare la temperatura di parti isolanti inizianti una combustione e contenere questo inizio di combustione nelle immediate vicinanze del guasto che l'ha provocato. Inoltre, il conduttore di guardia (66) viene collegato a terra attraverso un mezzo limitatore di corrente (70) per mantenere le correnti che si potessero formare verso la medesima a valori sufficienti a provocare l'intervento dell'interruttore differenziale ma a non provocare principi di incendi.
