I rifiuti posti sul nastro vengono sottoposti ad esame visivo per generare le informazioni relative alla qualità del rifiuto e la relativa posizione sul nastro da inserire in un sistema computerizzato di controllo ad inseguimento che sulla base di tali informazioni pilota selettivamente delle stazioni rebotizzate di asportazione dei rifiuti, ciascuna specializzata ad intervenire su una specifica tipologia di rifiuto (fig.1).
