Abstract

Oggetto dell'invenzione è uno stimolatore cardiaco impiantabile sensibile alla frequenza per stimolare organi o tessuti viventi di un paziente. Lo stimolatore comprende un circuito di controllo per generare impulsi destinati a controllare l'attività cardiaca ad una frequenza che varia fra un predeterminato limite superiore ed un predeterminato limite inferiore, come funzione della domanda metabolica del paziente.Lo stimolatore inoltre comprende un singolo elettrodo per la rilevazione dei parametri fisiologici del paziente e per generare segnali indicativi di essi. Un dispositivo di controllo dello stimolatore risponde ai segnali forniti dall'elettrodo per generare impulsi di controllo destinati a controllare l'attività cardiaca alla frequenza variabile fra una frequenza superiore ed una frequenza inferiore. Il dispositivo di controllo dello stimolatore è collocato all'interno di un alloggiamento e l'elettrodo è fisicamente accoppiato o collegato all'alloggiamento. L'elettrodo presenta un'area superficiale che è sufficientemente grande per ottimizzare la sensibilità dello stimolatore.
