Abstract
The apparatus, which makes it possible to automatically and effectively fold articles of clothing or garments before wrapping them, consists of a support frame 2 on which the garment 8 is spread, a first pair of means 4 for holding the garment 8 on the frame 2 of support and contrast for a pair of means of folding 5 on which the garment 8 is arranged while the middle part of the latter is held by the first pair of means of holding 4, a support table 7 on which the folded garment is arranged and pocket-shaped means 10 arranged below the support table 7 and which receive the garment 8 pushed into them through an aperture 71 in the support table 7 by means of insertion 12 above it and capable, at the same time, of folding it in "U"-form around itself; said pocket-shaped means 10 are subsequently rotated both around a horizontal axis and a vertical axis and traversed entirely by means of expulsion 13 which transfer the garment 8 to a feed line 9, arranged parallel to said support table and being part of a subsequent workstation on the machine.
